The Chinese government issued a ban on BL and now the content has to be heavily censored, that is why you got The Untammed as “tammed” as it was. The real manga is actually very seductive and graphic. It wasn’t intentional that we got bromance. In fact, it’s an insult because they could not produce what the true story conveyed due to the censorship. It’s not a step forward, it’s a step backward in terms of producing high quality Bl. The fact that they blatantly tried to NOT make it a BL even though it is a BL is enough to upset viewers. The leftover scripts have been issued a lot lately but every once in a while Taiwan does produce some amazing stories. Therefore, it’s a shame to see something like this.

We are negatively reviewing this series because it is precisely what it is- a shitty installment of the History franchise and Taiwanese BL, period.

Have you see the miniseries before this? They made it out to be like that but the ending was open ended. I guess we’ll know more in this full series. I really hope it isn’t the case because it’s a very petty reason. I’m still questioning the full length of this one because the slap stick comedy of the side characters is not doing it for me.

I couldn’t finish Cupid. I barely made it through A Thousand. I agree that Earth is such a fine specimen but idk what it is with me and him. We don’t vibe the way I vibe with Boss, Boun, Gemini & my latest crush- Net. 😜

I think it’s because I watched them in A Thousand & Cupid that I thought their roles were flat in this one. Girl, Idk why but even though Earth is so handsome, he doesn’t shake me like others do. It’s weird!!

Really? To be honest, Jim and Wen did nothing for me. Their story was flat. Earth & Mix were ok but I wasn’t blown away by their performances. They were outshined by their supporting peers. I didn’t understand the hype about Perth either until I watched him carefully in his role. He was given very little material and screen time but when he appeared, he acted the shit out of them. His acting is very subtle but enough to take over the screen compared to the main actors. Phuwin should take notes.

It goes to show how pretty faces aren’t everything in BL anymore. You got First and Khaotung outshining the main characters here & Perth in NLMG.

I totally forgot about our MVP Leng. Mark deserves his own BL main role soon. We only got snippets on Tiew and Por from MSP but I melted. His character there and here is one in the same- loving, supportive and full of good questions for our couples- “are y’all a couple? What is this? Who’s dating who? Get it together, fam.”

Yes yes yes to all that you said. everything about this series is top notched- down to it being just 8 episodes. Nothing dragged and nothing sagged. You know a series is good when you can watch it as a great story and not just a BL story.

I actually like Gaipa with Alan. I know Alan came off as a petty bitch but I came to understand him more. He loved too hard and could not get closure since Wen simply fell out of love. He needed a reason since it didn’t make sense to him. Therefore, he used Jim as the scapegoat. He could’ve handled it better but we’ve all been there. I think he’ll be a better person with Gaipa. Gaipa is the perfect example of how you should love someone- by not possessing them.
