Family is important in Korea, more important than I think many non-koreans understand. It was once a highly Confucian…
Ok good points, i get it.. But it still makes No sense to me, cuz its not like JH was poor.. he had a decent stable job.. sorry, just makes No sense to me.. cuz what i have been taught is that as long as a man with decent full time job , Thats more than enough for a woman to build a future with him...
I don't understand how adults past 30 are so dependent and have to obey the parents.
JA is a weak character, and if she really wanted to be independent she would have moved out a long time ago. Its just frustrating since JH is willing to give up anything for JA But she cant even fight for him.. what a unbalanced relationship, right now i just wish JH Will find a stronger woman.. such a shame, cuz i adored this otp so much before . =(
Im sorry if i came across as too crude, but it just makes me so pissed that JH gets all this crap from JA even after ALL he Done for her/ and willing to Do for Her.. Im not saying she has to love him as much as he loves her, But plz woman, be at least more understanding of him and show some more appreciation/ sympathy.. it takes TWO people to make a relationship work, not just one. JA has not offered anything to the table so far. He is willing to Do anything for her, give up everything for her etc.. But she cant even fight for him ? Their relationship is so unbalanced...
I've just finished ep 12 (raw on my computer and english recap on my phone haha) and I think I heard her saying…
Im so dissapointed in JA, after all he Done for her/is willing to Do for her.. after all his unconditional love for her etc.. she does all THIS to him ?? I Dont care that its different culture or whatever, u SIMPLY Do not Do this to someone you claim to love.. this is not Joseon era !!
Honestly , after today’s episode Im sick of Jin Ah now. (And even from the preview) Joon Hee deserves a better woman. .someone stronger who Will love him unconditionally. How can i possibly root for this couple when JA doesnt seem to value JH even nearly as much as he values her??? She just hurts him, even after all he Done for her.. my heart bleeds for him, i Dont think i can continue watching ...next ep seems like she is breaking up with him over the phone?
Hello I'd like to ask a question to all you drama lovers out there. Unfortunately in the drama community I'm in…
maybe you would like the japanese version Hana Yori Dango ? The female lead Makino is a awesome and a strong character who takes no shit, not even from Domyouji’s mother (I believe in BOF Jandi was not as strong or awesome). I don’t remember Domyouji being abusive towards Makino.. since HYD doesnt have many episodes, he falls quickly in love with her.
the taiwanese version Meteor garden is the most faithful to the manga (season 1 only) I heard, havent read the manga yet. But I remember Dao Ming Si in the beginning trying to rape Shan Cai and he even slapping her a few times. He was kinda abusive towards her, maybe even more so than in BOF...
So, I've watched through ep. 9 and am really enjoying this drama. My only disappointment with it is they seem…
Agreed. I don’t understand why ”stand by Your man” even plays during Jin Ah and Joon Hee scenes together. . It doesnt fit at at all since they have a good relationship and Joon Hee has never Done anything bad towards her.. But beside the music, i love this drama so much !
I'm trying to be optimistic that there has to be a reason. I hope there is; That won't excuse her poor comprehension…
True. I hope that someone will put the mother in place, its annoying that everyone ( even the father) just sits and says nothing when the mother is being mean. I hope she will get a wake up call soon...But if that happens it probably will not happen until the last episode or so xD
Omg the so called "mother" of Jin Ah is sooo annoying and shallow! Jin Ah sure has a HUGE patience,if I was her I would move out just to get away from that awful mom, it would drive me crazy and depressed for REAL if i kept living with a parent like that! What does the dad who is nice and all (nth like his wife), see in her?? Maybe there is some reason to why she is the way she is??
If the next twelve are as strong as the first four eps, anything less than a 9.0 would be a total insult. It's…
I fully agree. I love japanese romantic dramas from 90s ,I feel like the japanese has now forgotten to create nice love stories.. I can’t come up with any amazing romantic jdramas that is made after 2004. The romantic jdramas back in 90s/early 2000s were simple and realistic , yet so touching , beautiful .. with full of soul and heart. So I’m happy that korean dramas has now started to make romantic dramas with the same feel/atmosphere like the old japanese dramas (such as Something in the Rain) - with much higher quality/better cinematography which is a HUGE + ! So I’m in heaven now~
This is the kind of romance I like the most .. realistic and simple with fully fleshed out characters...full of emotion and depth. I don’t mind if its slow paced at times, I actually like it a lot… feels more realistic. This kind of korean drama was basically almost non existent just a while ago.. in the past almost all of them were unrealistic cinderella-like stories with full of cliches (super rich arrogant chaebol / poor innocent woman, evil future mother-in-law,amnesia etc )..
I’m thankful kdramas has now stepped up their game and finally realized that not everyone wants ALL the time cheesy, cliche cinderella like stories. Its great that kdramas now has become a lot more varied, with other genres than just romance… cuz not everyone is a fan of love stories. I guess they want to get even more people into k-dramas, one of the biggest reasons the dramas are now a lot more varied. I feel like korean dramas is only getting better and better (not just when it comes to higher quality / better cinematography, but also when it comes to more creative storylines, more well developed complex characters that are just not black or white.. etc).
High expectations because of the big budget AND that its by the producer who also produced the original MG from 2001. I’m happy MG is having a remake, because while the first season of the original is gold, the second season is terrible . . Hopefully the producer won’t do the same huge mistake again and go the same route as in S2 of the original.
My favorite is the japanese version (Hana Yori Dango), unlike in s2 of MG, the s2 of HYD is great.. and the ending of the s2 / the ending of the final movie is perfect. Lets see if MG 2018 will beat HYD.
Surprisingly I never watched Boys over flowers even though its crazy popular and the guys is even hotter in BOF than in MG/ HYD, but I have still no desire to watch it xD i believe I wouldn’t like it as much as the other versions, one of the reasons being is that I heard the female lead in BOF lacks the awesomeness and is very weak (meaning she is nothing like the awesome and strong female lead in MG / HYD.. Makino in HYD is personally one of my favorite female leads in asian drama).
After watching first episode I now finally understand why there is #MeToo...Being a working woman in Korea doesn’t seem easy, at least not in this drama. Anyway, very promising the first episode, liking it so far :)
