At first I was dissapointed IU declined the role in Queen of Tears (Where Kim Soo Hyun is the ML) But now I’m actually happy she did ! Because I’m more excited about this drama and I find her pairing up with Park Bo Gum more interesting. I am hoping for a happy ending of this but most period kdramas has sad endings… and IU’s most dramas also has sad endings… but I’ll still Ofc watch it even if it does have sad ending, I think this will turn out a masterpiece because of the actors and director and screenwriter :)
The upcoming drama will tell the life stories of Ae Soon and Gwan Shik who were born on Jeju Island in the 1950s.
IU will take on the role of Ae Soon, who is rebellious but gets nervous every time she rebels. She isn’t well off but is always shining and full of positivity. She dreams of becoming a poet although she is unable to attend school, and she is a bold character who doesn’t hide any emotions.
Park Bo Gum has been cast for the role of Gwan Shik, an extremely diligent and quiet character. Romance isn’t a strength for him, however, and he doesn’t know how to act if Ae Soon cries or laughs, but he is a silent warrior who only loves Ae Soon from the very beginning and pours his all into loving her.
The drama is scheduled to begin production in the first half of this year.

And I’m even more excited now since this will begin to production the first half of this year and not the second half! This and ”Oasis” (both period dramas ) are the upcoming kdramas I’m most excited about!!
Do you think this will be veeery different from c-version? Ofc We can’t know because the c-drama wont ever see its light, but What you think? I personally think this will be a bit lighter and more romantic focused. Also the FL might not be as ’strong” as in c-version… don’t get me Wrong, I still think she Will be strong just not as strong as in c-version.
Anyone knows when in past its supposed to be when ML and FL are Lovers? Not Joseon era , That’s for sure.. must be even further into past , like goryeo or silla??

Yeah, I cheered for the FL when the woman hitted her, because for once a FL who stood up for herself, not letting herself being unfairly badly treated.

I think most likely a love triangle .. both ML and second ML has feelings for FL (but based on the short trailer, she has only eyes for ML it seems) , ML and/or second ML might not make a move on FL at first because of the bromance thing going on between ML and second ML (they, or one of them, don’t want to ruin their friendship for a girl ) just my wild guess

I am excited for this but I really hope hyunsik considers losing few pounds. He looked dashing before.
I think he still looks just as fine, you don’t have to be super slim in order to be dashing. I don’t know Why some want him to Lose weight , he is far from overweight. He looks healthy.
