Confused about these bad reviews! Thanks to two of my friends who urged me to watch this drama otherwise the bad…
Nashita Nusibah, no need to be rude. Just because not everyone understands whats happening doesn’t mean that they are dumb and are unfit to watch other stuff that are not cliche romcoms...
This was not it FOR ME, others might like it, but it was not for me. The ML is cute and can act really well, but…
have you tried watching one JCW's dramas "Empress Ki" and "Healer" his best dramas in my opinion. Especially Empress Ki, there he plays a very complex deeply flawed character.
8.7 for THIS drama!? That's too high in my opinion... also lots of negative comments/reviews here yet still it has a high rating! I won't be watching from this screenwriter any more works after watching this and "Melting me Softly". I just don't like her over-the-top slapstick humor which only would work in anime for me, and I dislike how racist, homophobic etc her dramas are... very offensive. Don't come to me that its korea another culture with traditional old fashioned mindsets, still no excuse... and there are lots of kdramas out there that are rather progressive. It's fine if there are homophobes etc in kdramas but then it should be adressed how wrong it is or for exemple in those dramas about single parents how people treat them like shit, but in those kind of dramas the screenwriters never make it offensive , they just adresss the reality how society works and that it's wrong for the society to look down on single parents. The screenwriter of SWDBS though, seems to dislike homosexuals, foreigners etc, she never makes it a social issuse in her dramas, just for laughs.
for those who like this I recommend "my girlfriend is a gumiho".btw, spoilers there below
I was expecting the ML to scold / scream atthe FL after she went partying and got in trouble , most MLs in kdramas would get angry and raise their voice , but the ML was neither angry or talking loudly/screaming at her. Refreshing.
omg the word "penis" was said and even touched it, which is surprising for me since it's a kdrama xD
I really enjoyed the first ep, the leads have great chemistry .. it's very cute. I have never seen any dramas of the leads before, both are doing a great job! Supposedly the actress has got lots of flack for her acting in previous dramas, maybe that's true she was not great in those dramas (idk) but I thought here she does a great job! :)
I think we can expect some steamy scenes here because
1) the same director who directed What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, and same screenwriters who wrote WWWSK.
2) this drama is airing late and during wednesdays and thursdays, I heard that during those days those more mature dramas usually airs. And as we all know, the later a drama airs, more chance for some spicy scenes.
3) TvN. It's a cable channel, and as we know, cable channels have more freedom.
i cant wait for this version but i thout that the girl will end up with thymes best friend not thyme but hopfully…
she is not going to end up with the SML, that's for sure. If they had her ending up with the SML it wouldn't be true to the manga (the manga is the original, so all drama versions are based on it)
Ooh I'm looking SO much forward to this one(other kdramas I'm looking forward to just as much is Snowdrop,Red Sky, Hometown ChaChaCha). Song hye kyo is a true beauty, and I don't care about age gaps:) Maybe one of the reasons she didn't have that great chemistry with Park Bo Gum was because she was back then married and also because her husband was close to Park Bo Gum, thus they were not completely comfortable doing intimate scenes. But now she is single so who knows, maybe she'll be very comfortable doing intimate scenes now... she can do intimate scenes well, those who watched "the world they live in" knows that :)
