What I think is that ML had already travelled in through the book when he met the FL (irw), and that was the reason why he went to buy that company. While FL still hasn't experienced that, so he asks her again to confirm that does she really thinks that no Male character in the book is good enough? It's just about timelines...

It's a full package comady, romance, fantasy, mystery and thriller.
I honestly loved everything second of it.
