It's kind of cute and dull. But what is with everyone talking about how "handsome" and "hot" Gun (Win) is? I mean, to me he's ordinary-sort-of-cute but not some drop-dead gorgeous hunk... am I missing something here??
I enjoyed it okay, I guess. The ending seemed kind of... thrown together without much thought. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like these three couples aren't necessarily made for one another? (Probably just me.) I give it a 5.5 rating (I tend to be a tough grader!).
Cute series. This episode had its ups and downs: loved Zon's parents. P'Ritz is really cute but CAN'T sing, lol. Couldn't they have done better camera work to at least make it look like a full audience? Love Zon/Saifah, but some of their scenes dragged on a bit. Tutor acting jealous at the end seemed really extra.
I wasn't too excited about this at first -- not usually a fan of powerful mafia-type families and wasn't invested in the characters -- but I'm liking it a lot better now!
Okay, I know this series wasn't perfect, but let's be real- all BL's aren't. It was however unique and a beautiful…
Thank you! This needed to be said... it's true, BLs still have a ways to go before they hit perfection. As a gay male, I'll just say that I wish BLs were around when I was a teen. The fact that they exist at all is HUGE for young gay people trying to come to terms with who they are.
And, while I had some gripes about how UWMA could have been better, look at how far we've come from the "beginner" series such as SOTUS, 2 Moons, Make it Right, Waterboyy, Love Sick, What the Duck (etc.), which seem really amateurish compared to what we have now! The acting and production of current BLs has come so far in a short time, so there's a lot to be thankful for.
Someone really give 4 rating to this drama just by judging only 2 eps so far. Don't know why people are so addicted…
(I posted this below, but felt compelled to add it here.) I never review a series until I've watched all of it, because I don't feel I can give a fair review based on just the first one or two episodes. Some BLs can start great and end up disappointing, while others start slow and end up amazing. Based on Episode 1, I really like this one, but I'll wait to give my review.
Everyone, if you enjoy this series I would recommend you to review it, otherwise the ratings in here aren't going…

Those stereotypes are mostly true, if you like it or not.
Thanks for your detailed and thought-provoking response!
I'm with you on the (manly) seme/(passive) uke stuff... drives me crazy! First off, most gay couples do not identify as strictly "tops" or "bottoms." People, those are positions, not titles!
Another thing I see in BLs that makes me roll my eyes is the idea that, after anal sex, the bottom is walking around sore and in pain the next day. "Are you okay?" "Does it hurt?" "Here, I bought you some medicine... "
SERIOUSLY?? A gay man that "tops" another guy doesn't just slam it in there and start pounding away. Unless he is a brutal rapist, the top is just as invested in pleasuring his partner as is the bottom. And most bottoms wouldn't put up with painful sex for five seconds.
Thanks for your input! (My intention wasn't to hijack the 2gether The Series thread here. I enjoyed the first episode a lot and look forward to the rest! )

I feel compelled to jump in here. I agree with you, especially about the idea that a woman could "turn someone gay." As a gay male, I can confirm that you are right... homosexuality does not work that way! The reason I even watch BLs is because I think it's great that they exist at all... it makes me think of how my life would have been impacted as a teen, had BLs been around then. So I applaud any efforts to show gay couples as normal... because they are.
But my biggest peeve is the idea that a straight guy can "just be gay for one, certain special man." That's bull. If that's the case, you're not straight. And it's absolutely insulting to gay people.
Don't get me wrong, I am a huge BL fan. But I would love to see them evolve and get more real... for the sake of both women and men.
BLs appear to have, initially, been designed for a "fujoshi" audience. But I know for a fact that the young gay audience is building all the time. Please, let's set a good example for them. They may be impacted most of all.
Zon/Saifah kiss: perfect!

Thanks for letting me rant.
