A. Her clothes were not intact. He forcibly stripped off her outer garment, leaving on only what was ancient China's equivalent of a bra.
B. She screamed for him to stop for a good 2 minutes. He ignored her and continued trying to kiss her while pinning her against the bed. He didn't stop until she started crying.
C. What she asked for afterwards is completely irrelevant. Doesn't change the fact that he assaulted her.
It's one thing to have different opinions, it's another thing to have an opinion that condones sexual assault, while continuously defending the act as if it's "beautiful".
And finally, I asked a question. Asking a question is not "going on the attack" or "provoking". You're being way too sensitive.
On episode 16 so far (no spoilers, promise!). This drama is actually really interesting. For those who don't much…
Bo Wang had a premonition/dream of the king forcing him to kill Zhai Xing, so he's trying to manipulate her into leaving him so she can be safe. The idiotic thing is that Zhai Xing clearly told him that she can't leave him because she's bounded by their marriage and her obligation to the Ma Army. So essentially, Bo Wang is torturing her and putting her through living hell even though he knows that she's stuck with him and has nowhere to go.
Watch to the end of this drama before calling him a hypocrite. Ji Chong is literally the most selfless and considerate person in this show. Unlike Bo Wang, he actually cares for Zhai Xing's happiness.
People will go to any length to defend someone who's hot, even if they're a garbage human being. Anyone who's being objective like you can see that it's clearly not okay.
I understand the concept of noble breakup but this Prince Bo is an ass. Of all the things to do he had to humiliate…
I agree with everything you said. Bo Wang is a massive jerk who doesn't really understand what it means to love someone. The assault scene was so disturbing to sit through. I have no idea how anyone could've rooted for his character after that.
As for Ji Chong, his intention was initially to use Zhai Xing, but he quickly realizes that he's genuinely cares for her. Through this drama, he's pretty much the only guy who's consistently there to support Zhai Xing through anything she's going through.
Like you, I normally hate it when a protagonist being mean to a beloved in the name of "for-your-own-good". But…
Tell me about it. Watching those scenes felt like I was getting root canal. I have no idea why C-drama directors just love writing their male leads out to be toxic partners who think they're above honest communication
I don't blame Zhai Xing for believing him when literally everyone involved confirmed that Bo Wang was guilty.…
Ji Chong is the best part of this show. I wasn't even a Xiao Zhan fan going into this, but his character is just so cool. Really helped me continue watching through all the annoying misunderstandings.

I think he changed his mind because of that dream/premonition he had of him being forced to kill Zhai Xing. Wish he could've just communicated his concerns with Zhai Xing instead of deciding to just go ahead and act like a Class A jerk to her.

Yeah, this is one of those dramas were you just gotta clench your teeth and go along with it. It's not going to be a smooth ride, and there's going to be a lot of angst.
I agree with you. Bo Wang went way too far with it. I was somewhat surprised Zhai Xing didn't just straight up…
That Kui Zhou arc was so hard to watch that it permanently scarred my views on Bo Wang as a character. The gaslighting and emotional and physical abuse was so bad he would've ended up in jail if that happened in real life. Bo Wang goes through a lot to try to redeem himself near the end of the drama, but I still haven't forgiven him for the things he put Zhai Xing through. It's really just a toxic relationship, and Zhai Xing and Bo Wang are just not meant for each other in spite of their amazing chemistry.

Thank you! Exactly what I've been saying all along.
All Bo Wang does is control Zhai Xing and manipulate her so that she has no choice but to go along with what he wants for her. She doesn't even have a choice over her own life. It's such a toxic relationship.
People on this forum are so obsessed with Darren Wang and dreaming about his "sexy lips and muscles" that they literally cannot be objective about his character. His character is so incredible flawed.

Which is what Bo Wang did for 40 episodes, no?
