I'm not far into this show, but I must say: visually, Earth and New are probably my among my top my favorite couples. I love the contrast in their looks and how they mesh together.

The story has very noticeable holes, the production quality is sloppy and the acting gets choppy (but to be fair, a lot of the actors are new here). Nevertheless, the chemistry for both the lead and the side couple is there. I didn't even rate it very high, but somehow this series held my interest and I actually don't regret watching it. I think the chemistry between the couples is what really keeps this one afloat for those of us who actually appreciated it. If you decide to watch, focus on that and the other stuff really won't seem as bad.

Yeah, MDL is pretty fierce and I definitely see how problematic TT was too, but even on other forums (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), I see people drooling over TT, but I don't see any praise of 2gether without it being followed by some hate. You made a good point though before about it being hated now and redeemed later. From the comments on MDL, I kinda got the feeling that UWMA let a lot of people down when it first ended, but I personally really liked it.

I don't feel TT is as divisive as this one, but maybe so. I thought 2 Moons was nice, in the first season, anyway. I didn't watch the second season.

Chinese fans....were the reason 2gether was a success. That's what you actually meant by 'international success' even though you don't realize it. Maybe it's because you don't speak Chinese that you haven't seen/read the full length of praise the show received in China.

Also, you're a lunatic. lol But I just wanted to correct that part about Chinese fans.

That said though, are History S2/3, TharnType, Together With Me, 2 Moons really in the same boat as 2gether? Didn't all of those series do better, in general, in terms of fan reception? It seems like 2gether is kinda split right down the middle at this point.

And I think you meant to say: "until it's terrible that it gets a rating above 8" right? Or I misread..

Yeah, I guess that's true in many cases, but I don't think so in the case of 2gether. It'll drop below 8 eventually.

Thanks. They really don't get the appreciation they deserve. Love Is More Than A Word is still one of my favorites, but this picture is so effing sweet, I can't bring myself to change it.

I said it before and I'll say it again, BLs always age badly in general on MDL. Unless there's something really outstanding about it, the rating will inevitably drop to the mid 7s within a year.

Everyone knows this series wasn't that good. It's not like SOTUS where even the people who didn't care for it were still able to acknowledge the redeeming qualities. Unless they 1) get a season 2 2) it gets all the marketing that this one got and 3) is even marginally better than this one, the rating of this series will definitely drop.

Definitely not your cup of tea, but I'd also take the number ratings with a grain of salt. Most BLs on here tend to age badly, no matter how good they are. Not saying that this one was great, but most people aren't aware that this series even exists and tbh probably won't even know for a while, so that's why it's currently at 8.1. I'm positive it will have dropped to the low 7s or even high 6s after several months with more people watching. Time is the ultimate test. If a BL is a year or older (6 months or older if it was heavily marketed) and still has above 8.5 on MDL, it's probably worth the watch. Otherwise, just read the comments for a general consensus.
