That was kind of solo's character lol and he obviously evolve as an actor since its been like 2yrs(?) Since oxygen
I'm just happy to see him making different facial expressions, in general. Not saying I thought he should have made more different facial expressions in Oxygen.
I just want to add a small caveat to what the others have mentioned about the actors. While they were popular before this show, Wang Yibo more so than Xiao Zhan, it's this show that shot them to the top. Their faces have been everywhere, all over Chinese mainstream media non-stop since The Untamed aired. So, as much as they made this show, this show really made them too.
I just read somewhere that the names of the five suitors correspond to different elements/natural things. Namely: Phupha: Mountain Natee: River/stream Wayo: Wind Saifah: Thunderbolt/lightning Akk: Fire I'm pretty sure the translation's right for the others, but I'm not sure about saifah. Any Thai speakers? :D
The french and his accent actually dont really make sense. He lived in France for 10 yrs without having gone back…
Agreed. Theo attempted, multiple times, to say 'menteur', but really said something that sounds closer to 'menter'. Then ironically we get a scene of Akk trying to say 'menteur', but his translation app is saying he's pronouncing it wrong. haha It doesn't seem like they're going to let it go, so I'm just going to try to let the random bad French be a source of humor rather than frustration for me from now on.
I don't know when this is scheduled to air, but they need to hurry up. I really need *good* KimCop in a series because their characters in Gen Y 2 are pissing me off so badly right. now
One thing I really have to say I'm appreciating in this series IS just being able to see Nut being allowed to make different facial expressions. Did anyone else watch Oxygen? He didn't smile in that show at all. He's so handsome in a completely different way to me now.
This is not BL. It has never been marketed as BL and the fact that it is for a wider audience and not just fujoshi…
Maybe it can be both? I mean, it is being led by a couple a known explicitly for their BL roles. That alone is enough to bring all the fujoshis over. As far as the content itself, the main theme of this genre is anti-corruption. Queer rights were at the forefront of that particular protest in that particular episode, but I don't recall them touching on that at all before that during all their discussions about social corruption. For me, personally, I think this is a BL, but the theme of the context is so current and important that it reduces the impact of the typical "BL" elements we'd usually be gushing over on (for example, one guy falling then the other guy catching him with the dreamy stares into each others' eyes). I just feel like the BL stuff is all there, there's just other, arguably more important, stuff going on that's driving the story.
i think i get what ppl are saying maybe because "bl" is targeted towards straight women more than lgbt people.…
You don't think the raging homophobe who's actually just closeted and confused is realistic? I thought that part was the most realistic aspect of the show. Also, mixing sex and abuse? Yeah. Those are very male/college things that happen. Whether gay or straight. That's not the majority of people, no, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a university campus void of sexual assault on the part of men.
I'm usually more forgiving than I find others have been toward these types of short KBLs, but this one didn't do it for me, personally because I don't really understand how/why they fell in love. The way Jung Woo hit on/flirted with Do Gun, to me, felt more like how someone flirts with they want to make love rather than actually falling in love. Why was Do Gun appealing to Jung Woo? Why didn't we see Jung Woo doing something for Do Gun that spoke to Do Gun's personality and why didn't we get to know more about Do Gun's personality in general? I also don't see why Do Gun would have actually fallen in love with Jung Woo. He did an excellent job of wooing. With golden eyes and a body like that, I get it, Jung Woo's hard to resist, but what else was there for us to believe that Do Gun would love him and furthermore that Do Gun would so readily forgive him.
Normally, the eye candy, production quality, the chemistry between the leads and the OST (I swear I end up liking 95% of the songs I hear in KBLs) enough to fill my plate when the plot isn't strong enough, but that didn't happen with this one. Me not really getting why they fell in love just got in the way. It wasn't bad and I can see why people liked it and so I'd recommend it to anyone who's curious. This just wasn't it for me.
"Would you like some new content with your flashbacks?"It's hard to believe this is episode 6 - it feels like…
So funny you mention My Mate Match. All the while watching that show, I was looking forward to seeing the actors who play Koh and Jack again in Gen Y 2 and at this point, for as much as I love Mark and Kit, I feel a sudden want for My Mate Match season 2.
Namely:
Phupha: Mountain
Natee: River/stream
Wayo: Wind
Saifah: Thunderbolt/lightning
Akk: Fire
I'm pretty sure the translation's right for the others, but I'm not sure about saifah. Any Thai speakers? :D
