I feel like the Eighth Sense set the bar too high and now it's tough to fully enjoy other KBLs...
i mean, you have people dropping the recent shows (Happy Merry Ending, Love Mate and this) at episode one just because it is not The Eighth Sense level. dropping the show because you dont enjoy it is okay, but dropping it just because it is not like another show... i have nothing to say.
After watching this i feel like no bl will ever be on this level😭
The newer shows are already being judged more hashly. Some do not even give them a chance, dropping it directly when the first week does not have same level as this show.

Why is the rating so low? Maybe a lot of people dropped after they thought JiHyun died?
Dont take the rating at face value. The highest KBL drama on MDL is 8.2. So 8.2 out of the highest possible 8.2 is essentially a 10.
Use the score as a guide and compare with similar show on the same platform. A 9.5 on imdb and a 9.5 on mdl is not the same.
KBLs seems to be rated more harshly here compared to other drama. None has surpass the 8.2 limit yet. Some of the film version of KBL however did get higher score but i think it is more fair to compare the dramas among themselves.

In the webtoon they are fwb. Not sure if they address if he is in love with SJ or not in the later chapters, only the first 10 chapters are free and translated.
7.3 ... yikes. Semantic Error, TMS2 and Eighth Sense have spoiled us; bare minimum won't do anymore.

Pretty sure on twitter the director address it. They did film a take with the proper kiss but they use the one in the final version instead as gongchan's face is more emotional in the fish kiss take. He did mention he is taken aback by the criticism though

As long they dont go into the quantity > quality route like thai did. But so far we have more good than bad this year for kbl
