No, it's plain bad! no need to empathize with them, it's just bad.
Well yeah…it’s bad but I’ve seen worse 🤷‍♀️

It is bad…but also kinda goofy, which made it kinda funny.
Not the worst thing I’ve seen but still not good.

I don't get it either. So he showed Tono a fake picture of himself when he was kid and then had the filter up…
He didn‘t even need to show Tono a fake picture …he could’ve just shown his real childhood picture or did he have a pimple in that picture as well? What was the point of the fake picture anyway? They’d already seen each other on camera pimple or no pimple.

I‘m a little sad about the low rating. I personally liked it a lot. It was a cheesy but nice romcom (yeah, I feel like the comedy tag is missing) with good acting and interesting characters that actually have relatable flaws. There was no self-inserts, the character growth made sense and the interactions were fun to watch. The only thing I disliked/was confused by is the misunderstanding. They forced the length of that a little too hard imo. It could’ve v´been cleared much earlier but I guess the writers really wanted that jealousy trope to last. Well, it’s ok bc otherwise I loved it.

It was ok I guess…
But was the pimple truly the main problem that made Boss have a filter on etc? Weren’t they supposed to be in contact for like weeks? The pimple would’ve gone away by then…

I agree, but there's a way to tell it, and a way not to tell it. The characters still need to act like actual…
Well, I understand where you’re coming from. It still never bothered me bc it felt believable to me. Maybe it’s bc I saw the family conflict as more of a framework for the love story instead of it being the central conflict.
They were technically dating in secret but it more or less showcased that the family was starting to accept it. I took it that the family has always known that they never broke up and just needed time to come to terms with it before they proceed to accept their relationship openly. I mean, I would’ve liked more of a development between the families but I myself am ok with the way it ended.

I never had a feeling like they set up a continuation but it certainly would’ve made more sense. I feel like if there’s limited screen time you got to pick and choose. They could’ve completely cut the dad conflict and concentrated solely on the boys but they didn’t. Why? Honestly idk. Maybe they wanted more drama. Bad choice if you’ve only got so many minutes to work with. Without harping too much on it, it just felt like they made the dad the main antagonist and then never resolved the issue that prevented them from getting together. It’s like the antagonist disappeared into thin air bc no screen time. It even would’ve made more sense if the boys ran away together or smt.

Actually the time skip in bad buddy was the only one that didn’t bother me. Usually I hate time skips bc they are used as last minute drama where the characters have to break up and not contact each other again for at least like a year, which makes the inevitable reconciliation super awkward and forced. I mean, how can you just kiss and be happy ever after when you haven’t seen you ex/bf. for over a year, especially if you parted ways on a bad note? In Bad Buddy they never broke up, so the twist for the audience worked imo without making it forced or weird. But it’s just my opinion. Also, I felt the conflict with the parent was done realistically or at least believable imo. Neither the character nor the script pushed he parent to be super accepting and it made sense to me. In the end they needed time to come to terms with the situation and that gave off a bitter sweet (more sweet than bitter imo) feeling. I personally liked it but I get it. To each their own.

I haven seen peach of time yet, I’m not a super big fan of jimmy and the story didn’t really grab my attention but it’s still technically on my to watch list.

Oh yeah, that’s true. Love Stage was horrendously dull. Turbo was badly miscast… he acted so fakely cute and baby-like that it was uncomfortable to watch and he got so much screen time too…
I liked the manga itself and I understand that this type of almost random and over the top comedy ist probably very hard to translate onto the screen in a live Action Setting but they didn’t even try. The only one I liked was the older brother. He acted campy and funny and I thought it suited the tone of the manga but he was literally the only one who acted that way, which made everything even weirder.

Well…yeah maybe. But even in 2005 and 2007 jap bl had better kisses than this, so I really can’t forgive it. People say that Korea ist super homophobic (and it’s true) but other East Asian aren’t very lgbtq welcoming either and they still manage to deliver for the most part.
There are a couple of points where I have to disagree. I do feel like the WYEL completely papered over the problem. The conflict with the dad was completely ignored and never mentioned again. The dad sent his son abroad, then he came back after having no contact with his crush, they awkwardly kissed and suddenly it’s a happy ever after? I don’t know man…seems a bit weird to me. What happened with the dad? Did he suddenly approve or what? Did the son cut ties with him? It’s just never mention again…

I liked WYEL right up until the last couple of episodes and that embarrassing press of lips at the end. The pacing and drama in the last 2 episodes became so over the top and whack that it canceled out any positive feeling that I might‘ve developed before. The time skip too, was like a rotten cherry on a cake that’s already past its expiration date.

Interesting… might be worth checking out the manhwa version, thank you. It seems they completely reinterpreted the story and made an almost pretentious slice of life out of an obvious comedy.

That’s so true. I feel like k-BLs receive generally a much better average rating on mdl than BLs from other countries. I for once seem to struggle quite a bit with kbls even though I do like and watch some mainstream k dramas. There are only two kbls that I genuinely like and that’s Semantic error and To My Star 1. Every other kbl seems to pass me by, emotionally or otherwise (apart from strongberry‘s works maybe). Blueming was another where I just couldn’t understand the hype. It wasn’t bad by any stretch but it was mediocre and kind of bland. I usually check out the reviews before I start a series (that’s why I’m here) but now I’m not excited about TMS 2 :(
I‘m sorry, I just needed to get it off my chest. I just feel so alone in my inability to connect to most k-BLs…

I’m super excited for this! Finally so happy for Fiat bc he absolutely deserves a main role! I don’t even care what this story is about, I’ll watch it for Fiat alone.

Yeah, same. I think it’s because not every vpn is able to unlock streaming sites. I’m not sure which one works for iQIYI though…

It’s not available in my region either. Do you mind telling me what region you’re using to watch it? Same with “Dear Doctor I’m coming for Souls” I can’t find it either..

I enjoyed it much more than it’s predecessor. Granted, the story is very simple and riddled with cliches but at least it wasn’t as dull and confusing as it’s prequel. The last two episodes felt weirdly out of place but it’s ok. I like Mek a lot, he seems to be the better actor out of all his co-stars in this .

It’s a bit messy but still a better watch than Gen Y.
The only thing I got from this show is that Boss is hot. Is it shallow? Yes but there was barely anything else that kept my attention otherwise. The chemistry between the main guys was lukewarm at best and while Bank and Bonus are cute it just…wasn’t enough.

I am looking forward to it. Both Oxygen and Nitiman had a mellow vibe that I enjoyed.
Well I hope you’ll like this one too :)
Though I probably won’t but we’ll see.
