pretty sure someone said it in the comments that the focus was too much on the story and less on the romance.…
Ohh yes, I haven’t seen anyone else mention how unbelievable the police and forensic teams are by having all the main character look like young idols who stepped out of a celebrity magazine lol It’s kinda funny but also prevents me from taking these stories seriously especially when you see side characters of appropriate age and physique next to the pretty boys who are supposed to be much smarter, stronger and generally more capable than the rest of the more normal looking people. Feels more like kids playing dress up, if anything.
I’m glad the son was included as the accomplice bc the fact that Aisoon was involved was obvious from the second he appeared on screen. Loved the production and the fact that’s it’s a horror BL but it definitely had issues. The romance between both couples felt tacked on and the acting from the younger cast (apart from Pavel and Otto) wasn’t very good..it was especially obvious when the older actors acted circles around most of the younger actors even with only minutes of screentime. I really wish the romance had been between King and Singha instead of Thup and Singha. There was very little chemistry or even reasoning behind the romance between Thup and Singha, it was bafflingly one dimensional.
I think it’s high time we agree that dunk can’t act at all😭 It’s so embarrassing to see people glazing…
His acting is definitely on the weaker side (to put it mildly) but at least he didn’t have to pretend to cry in here and that alone elevated the show for me..
2/3 into the show and I feel the exact same way about it. It was so frustrating to see all the super positive reviews and little criticism. Pooh’s acting in particular drives me up the wall. He can’t convey emotions properly and has the same goofy smile on his face almost always regardless of the situation. His shortcomings in acting are especially visible when he’s standing next to Pavel and that is most of the time. I wish the romance would’ve been about King and Singha second chance reconnection (or whatever you’d call it), like you said it makes the most sense story-wise. Anyway, I simply wanted to thank you for the review bc reading it was like a balm to my frayed and annoyed emotional state the show put me in. I’m so happy that somebody else feels the same way I do!
…. Can you actually, really « go running » with a cat ? (Not mentioning that the vet’s cat doesn’t look…
I have a cat and she does go ouside and we sometimes play in the grass, messing around. I run after her and vice versa. I also sometimes go out late in the evening or at night to walk with my cat and she often follows me where I go or waits for me to follow her but I’ve never seen a cat run alongside a jogging person or on a running track.
all the signs are showing that ohmleng leaving the project completely changed everything about the show and that's…
Ok maybe I missed something…What do you mean the story was rewritten? Isn’t it based on a novel that was written after season 1? I thought Aou Boom simply replaced OhmLeng in the script, not that it had been rewritten. Are there sources concerning the rewrite?
well that trailer felt oddly tame and just reiterative. part of why the first season worked despite its low budget…
Agreed. I loved the first season bc the characters had layers to them and felt as messy as real people and the complex, muddy relationship dynamics kept me hooked, not to mention that they had Boston and Nick as their wild card that they could do anything with bc they weren’t a fixed ship. In the sequel the characters and their relationships seem to be a lot more straightforward and less risky (and it isn’t directed by Jojo). Of course that’s all based on the trailer and the book that I asked someone to spoil for me but let’s see how it all plays out
It seems to me they have toned down the messiness in the official trailer to a degree. The visual atmosphere is not as intense as it was in the prequel or even the pilot imo which I find a bit disappointing but I’m still very excited to see Boston again.
I also felt the ending was rushed , them falling in love felt too insta-love in a way considering their rocky…
Yup, the sudden shift to insta-love kind of ruined it for me. What’s the point of all this super slow and complex build up if the characters use a lazy cop out in the end? It’s like answering every question on an exam yourself, only to cave in and cheat in the last ten minutes. What’s the point?
Kinda lost me after the 7th episode. I think it needed at least 12 episodes to properly flash out the characters and their complicated relationships towards one another, not to mention other problems like AI etc. I enjoyed every second of the show up until the start of episode 8 but I thought Koh and Jira falling in love and confessing was a bit quick considering the overall pacing from previous episodes. The AI debate felt a bit too performative to me for the lack of a better word and the ending seemed rushed and a bit contrived.
It's not a BL. During the live event they changed MCs for every type of series and Mr Kill was in het/no-romance…
True, I remember their quick statement. I didn’t watch the live this year, only the pilots so I was still confused about Mr Kill😅 I didn’t know they adjusted the airing categories though. I remember I liked the thrill of not knowing if the next pilot is gonna be bl or not 🤣
This is the exact reason why I’m against bromance. No BL will be given good plot in the future if they can just…
I kind of agree. Not necessarily that bromances shouldn’t be made but that gmmtv bls won’t get a similar storyline treatment. It seems gmmtv has decided that if it’s going to produce a bl it has to have romance front and center (with some other formulas). I think that’s why they won’t produce a show that is mainly a different genre but with a bl relationship as a subplot. The only thing that came close was Not Me if I remember correctly. It’s a bit depressing bc I’m dying for something like HSF and Mr.Kill but with an actual, confirmed relationship at the end. These bromances are of course very bl-coded, so much so that it almost becomes impossible to read them as ‘simple’ bromances but man, what I wouldn’t give for them to actually make something like that but openly bl.
I just saw the trailer and it looked very bl-like at times. I came to check and the genre is mystery and drama. People seem to discuss the possibility of it being bl but from what I understand it’s not a bl officially, right? More in line with something like HSF?
It’s kinda funny but also prevents me from taking these stories seriously especially when you see side characters of appropriate age and physique next to the pretty boys who are supposed to be much smarter, stronger and generally more capable than the rest of the more normal looking people.
