I just finished the first episode and am already having a hard time with it. Little Jane is weird imo. He reminds me so much of the self-insert, no spine, no personality type of damsel in distress characters that used to plague romance novels.
Does he develop a personality with time or is he going to keep being an empty, helpless husk of a self insert?
What about big Jane? He seems just as empty. I have no idea why he even likes Little Jane. The characters (especially Little Jane) are already frustrating me big time. Is it worth t continuing?

If anyone has read the novel, is there a difference between the novel and the show??

Ok, I’ve heard about the ending but I didn’t expect it to be THAT weird!
It’s such a shame bc up to episode 8 it was a pretty decent show but the last episode was just a big fat lol.
Honestly it felt like the dude who was left behind went bonkers and imagined that insane hallucinatory ending. Guys, I’m usually ALL for a happy ending, but I simply cannot force myself to take this ending seriously. I guess my headcanon is that Chuan lost his marbles after seeing his bf explode..

Yujeen is very cute and a decent actor at his age but the only way I can describe this series is Walmart MSP

I agree that the potential was the only thing this drama had. I guess the actors were pretty decent but everything else wasn’t. It’s baffling to me what little they did with the amount of screen time they had and they didn’t have a lot.
They wasted a good amount of precious minutes and seconds on basically nothing (prolonged scenes that didn’t need to be that long like eating, walking, staring into nothingness etc).
Imo the romance was very awkwardly tacked on instead of smoothly incorporated into the plot. Also the two main character’s relationship (friendship? flirting?) was so superficial it was hard to get emotionally attached.
The second couple had much more substance to them but it ended up being a pile of nothing with that ending.
I respect the attempt and I respect the idea but everything else? Squandered potential…which happens bc we all have to start somewhere, right? but it’s just a bit frustrating bc they could’ve done infinitely better even with the little amount of screen time they had. The ending was especially weird.

I’m a bit late to the party but this was such a fun ride! I’ve been a fan of its fever-dreamy predecessor since I randomly stumbled upon it on YouTube way back when but this remake is obviously on a different level. Much more coherent and has more budget! And snakes lol
The relationship dynamic might come across as a little outdated (iykyk) but I wasn’t bothered at all. In fact the characters carried every second of the show! I love them! Now onto the next Cbl ‘cause they have me by the throat!

No, I’m pretty sure it was mentioned in the show that at first the dad wanted Nakhun to mate with the pure omega but because Nakhun at that point already had bitten Phatsa and thus created a bond with him (who the dad doesn’t know is a pure omega) his only other option was Nakhin who is technically ‘un-mated’ so far.

Ok I know this is completely random but in the last episode Zixiang wears the same shirt Zhou Shuyi wore in the first episode of We Best Love! (Ok, idk if it’s actually the SAME shirt lol but it’s def the same design) .

But that still doesn’t make sense, does it? I mean, the secondary gender characteristics are biologically determined either way aren’t they? It wasn’t for the father to decide if Phatsa gets them or not. I don’t understand the dad’s logic at all. It’s like putting hands over your eyes and ears and pretending that nothing’s happening by ignoring reality.
Not to mention that he was putting a potential omega in a very dangerous situation by doing that (as well as his own son). Like, what did he think his secrecy would eventually lead to? Especially if he was convinced that Phatsa was an alpha? I would maybe kind of understand it if he thought that Phatsa was a beta but otherwise? Nope, sounds nonsensical to me.

The plot intrigued me but the acting was somewhat weak imo. I also had a hard time taking Jay’s actor seriously, he looked like a kid in cosplay

Finally!! I’m excited that Korea produced a mainstream budget bl for once (a crime investigation bl at that!) and I hope it won’t be the last one. Binged it in a day and it felt like a wake up call after getting used to overly fillers-y story and broken pacing of most Thai BLs I’ve watched. The story felt just a little bit rushed but they probably had to cram everything into ten 25min episodes. Still, the pacing was good all in all, considering.

I’m cautiously optimistic about Jojo bc I’ve loved several of his shows but I agree that the recent ones were duds. I still hope that without the gmmtv shackles his mojo will return..

It has probably less to do with peoples ages and more with their personal preferences and fetishes.

I tend to enjoy manga more than their tv adaptations but in this case I agree. I read the manga after watching the show and while it had basically the same plot points and mostly the same settings the drama really made the work shine in a way the manga never managed to do. The team really did a fantastic job of adapting it to live action. The chemistry and acting did a huge amount of heavy lifting imo but the direction was remarkably good too.
