I guess if the rating is high, it’s featured on a list so people searching for the next watch are more inclined…
A site must have a way to promote itself. Ratings make users click on pages and the advertisers pay for the clicks. That's just business.
As for fake ratings, yes, that's the end result of this kind of business setting. It was the same with Amazon book reviews when it first started. The writer would have ALL his/her friends click 5 stars to help push his/her book to the top of recommendations to get views. Then after self-publishing became competitive, many writers paid for bots and people to give one star ratings and reviews. Then fans started helping and fan wars began. Overall, the only way to counter this was to make sure reviews were a certain length and not just a "It sucks" line. But Amazon really doesn't care because it's target is the consumer, not fairness to the product.
I only use book ratings as an example because Amazon was first a book selling site. Now it's an everything site and ALL the ratings are suspect. Bots and competitors downvoting are everywhere now.
If i find myself getting pissed by any comparison or whatever I just remember the success LLTG bought tencent…
From watching all her recent endeavors, I think LuSi wants to try something new (genre and plot) in every drama. She had ventured into death-by-disease, villainess, comedy, familial, Chinese TV stuff, wuxia fantasy, xianxia, teen crush/love, now historical epic/female empowerment. Her next one coming up is a CEO drama. Not sure what her current one that she's filming would be, but I am sure it's something new for her try :).
They even gave him a beautiful 4 minute song of death.
A travesty! LOLOL Thank you for this whole post with all the comments. I also loved the one today who yelled out in big capital letters: WHERE IS MY BIG FAT BABY? HE DIED WITHOUT GIVING US A BIG FAT BABY!
I invite all recent watchers who fought through to the end and.. #headdesk your way through the Xiyan Green Tea arc...to come join my table and have some of my yummeh Se Bu Liao soup. :)
If by emotional you mean, feeling disgusted and frightened. Those are the only emotions this Crown Prince vs Luo…
IMO Clown Prince just wanted EVERYTHING his little brother had. He took away his brother's favored status, took away his generalship, took away his pride, his ability to stand tall. And then, of course, he also wanted his brother's girl. He even tried to do that with Mei Lin, he almost succeeded in choosing her as his concubine because he knew his brother wanted her!
Im at episode 25 and I feel like dropping...There is so many other dramas i want to watch right now.
Just go to Episode 40 and watch the first half hour. LXY in all his dimply glory in red and peeking out of the marriage carriage because he was going to be a househusband. :) Then the hot bed scene. And then no need to watch any longer!
It's bc she was poisoned with Momai (as you know for sure) and when she was in Xiyan, the general took the dragon…
No, Stupid XiyanGreenTea Prince did that to her. That scene where she was helping her maid-friend to escape from the dungeon, remember the dart XiyanGreenTea's subordinate blew into Mei Lin and it made her weak and she fainted? Yeah. He told it was the only way to stop her because her martial arts was so good. I FRACKING HATE GREEN TEA PRINCE.
Thank you very much for writing that. I do have the slightest bit of hope that after she left to travel the world…
I still think PeachBlossomGoddess had the best idea--Kang Ju princess-carrying the dying YanJiZing should be the pay off! And I still imagine DuanWu didn't travel alone. ZJR would never let her travel alone :). He would follow her in his own caravan for 39 years before he died of old age. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

That one comment made my morning.
