Yes, I have always said (in early posts) that the Big Bad is/will be XiyanGreenTeaPrince. He is the Clown Prince's true mirror, doing all the same things but in a different way. Think about it: vying for the throne, a ten year infatuation, a betrothal obtained through questionable means, etc.

Yes, and taking sides is half the fun (when not taken seriously). I read many Western romances and it's always a tradition in long series to have several sexy male leads so the readers are hooked to be Team ML1, Team ML2 or Team ML3, etc. Of course, they are all written better than XiyanGreenTeaPrince, heh heh heh.

Answering my own question, XiyanGreenTeaPrince DOESN'T care where her heart really is because he only wants her by his side as his wife. He's one of those who thinks his own love of the other is enough to sustain a relationship and surely the other would grow to love him because HE is much better.
