I'm speculating that's the exchange MRJH and XiyanGreenTeaPrince made. The cure for Mei Lin's safety.

His country's magic can cure everything but delusions, it seems! (His with Mei Lin and his father's for immortality!)

Because he is the equivalence of the Chinese idiom Green Tea for people/characters who look innocent outside and act like everything is done with a good heart but in reality, he/she is a schemer. If you watch those stories with a good and bad sister, the bad sister is always the Green Tea, getting all the favors from parents and ML because she is weak and sweet and always a victim of the other sister, but is the actual engineer of the misdeeds blamed on the other person. So, XiyanGreenTeaPrince!

Maybe he has the cure because Xiyan seems to be the place of magic cures (the three day dead powder, the emperor's cure....)

I know you do and you know I wasn't criticizing the drama, just the directorial choice. It took me out of the story while WATCHING it. Maybe it wouldn't have if I were reading it. Anyhow, it was a fun thing to bring up.
