IMDb is American. I highly doubt Americans are the ones who are rating this drama low. I explained the reason why in one of the conversations below. My point is international doesn't only equate to America.
OMG Wait, I have a serious question about episode 20. Click on the spoiler comment below this.
I don't like dramas with storylines that cast aside women if they are not virgins, while allowing men to be promiscuous. Nevertheless, I like dramas in which both people wait until marriage to have sex.
The reason why I mentioned being shocked was because I wasn't expecting it. Whether, I like the scene or not is up to me. As, whether you like the scene is up to you. Please halt the offenses and persuasions, allow me to either like it or not. =)
Lol if anything I’d say it is not well known drama internationally because international fans don’t know the…
That's the thing, I actually don't think that westerners are the ones rating those horrible romcoms with idols in them, high lol. Maybe it's the international fans from the east. I can pretty much tell you that most Americans over 16, would think those dramas are corny.
Btw, Americans dramas aren't any better, in terms of content. My point is most American shows are overtly sexual and hmmm, liberal, while Chinese dramas tend to be conversative and too unrealistic. Thus, the average American would cringe when watching Chinese romcoms lol.
I personally love Chinese historical and period dramas but I can't watch most Chinese romcoms, and I don't even like dramas/shows with cursing or sex scenes. So one would think Chinese romcom dramas would be up my alley...but it's not because they often lack how westerners would handle sociocultural issues and romance. Not to say that Chinese directors should adhere to western culture, but rather, that these dramas are meant to attract the Chinese audience, who are used to those types of dramas.
Anything that is japanese work ain't hyped by international fans. Imagine Takahashi Issei was Korean or to a lesser…
Thank you for your comment and for clarifying! I've tried several times to get into J-dramas but the way that their dramas are produced and the story is told, is vastly different than how western dramas are told. I'm not saying one is better or worse but people adapt to a specific style depending on their demographics. Btw, since the 90's, anime has been insanely popular in the states. The reason why Americans (I cannot speak for international fans in other countries) like K dramas nowadays, is because modern day K-dramas are often replicas of American dramas and or Chinese dramas (but westernized). Also, out of any East Asian country, Americans were exposed more to Chinese culture due to globalization, and immigration. In the late 90's, and early 2000's when K-dramas mirrored the storytelling style of J-dramas it didn't get a lot of international attention. Last but not least, J-dramas don't try to advertise their dramas to international audience.
I sincerely have tried to watch several J-dramas but I didn't make it past the first episode. I'll try again in the near future.

Thanks for clarifying. What you wrote made sense. Btw, I'm an international fan and you're right, I hadn't heard of the female lead (although she's American). There are about 5 Chinese actors/actresses that will get me interested in watching a drama if the synopsis catches my interest. Whether, they are famous in China or not, I don't know lol. Nevertheless, I'll never continue to watch a drama just because I like an actress, if the drama is bad. For example, Novoland Pearl. Omg, I was highly disappointed.
I could be an exception to the rule, but respectfully, I don't think people in my demographic care about what domestic fans think we care about. If anything, Americans (one factor of the demographic that I referenced) prefer mature dramas like this, over the damsel in distress dramas. I guess that's why I didn't understand those comments.
There are a lot of comments about international fans overhyping dramas. I took a 6 month hiatus from MDL, did I miss something? Which dramas are being overhyped by international fans? Did someone create an article on MDL about this, or something? LOL
I saw several comments about this on this page, and I genuinely don't understand 😅.
Please advise and type with respect. Tankkkkks (thank you).

If so, I'm so shocked. Lol
