God, I wanted to be interested in this (b/c hello, handsome merman!?) but I just cannot get past the weird overdubbed…
I agree about the dubbing, it can be...awkward. I haven't seen many C-dramas, but I think people just kinda tolerate it. I myself found it a bit weird at first, but then I got used to it...
You should give this a try, you know, for the handsome merman :p
I was behind this week so just catching up now and I'm on episode 20 and i cannot believe he actually thought…
Yes, me too. The fact that he had to choose between them, and that too just because she looked like Bai Yihan and was maybe her descendant, was a bit messed up. But I was just glad that they didn't stretch out that thing and wrapped it up quickly. So in the end, I didn't end up minding it that much.

He didn't really. he was in a dilemma for a while, caught between his new love and the promise he made to his old love (even that was a bit stupid). However, he made the right decision in the end.
I read somewhere that the female lead was someone else. But I hope it's Bea Hayden. Is this the confirmed…
That's why I'm confused. If it's the story of the same person, why are they showing us this. I mean if he ends up with Shen Luo in this modern life, what's the point of showing us his past love story? Or does it mean they won't end up together here or something?

Anyway, still not sure about the premise. Is this about the same characters' past lives or something? Or something new entirely, as if the modern version doesn't exist? Then why did they change female leads name but not the male leads T_T
It follows our heroine, who is a third-rate cartoonist, and she’s captured by the hero – a rich CEO of an IT company. He asks her to return their child, which she “supposedly” gave birth to 3 years ago. When she responds no to his weird story (she doesn’t even know him!), he puts her under house arrest. He uses every mean to force her to return his baby, and she eventually realizes he suffers from paranoia and some type of personality disorder. As he faces her gentleness and courage, he utilizes low-EQ techniques to pursue her. With the secret from three years ago and a surprised return of a friend, what will happen to the budding romance?
I found a person online who has listened to the original audiobook of the novel. When I asked about the ending,…

For some reason the whole comment isn't showing. So I'm completing the upper comment. He/ She also said-
As expected Wu Julan doesn't take back the spiritual pearl, so we know he's going to die. That's how they ended it.
In the OP, there is, what supposedly looks like, a wedding scene.
That'll be a more bittersweet ending *sniff*

"Here’s the real spoilers on the novel…..
They got married. Shen Luo even talked to Violet on the possibility of having babies with Wu Ju Lan.
The rating should be higher :P I love it, but does anyone know where in China this is filmed? it is fucking stunning…
I agree with you that the ratings should be higher. I LOVE this show so far, more than any other I'm CW.
Also agree about the scenery, they are beautiful.

Not the last episode of 'goblin, but the 3rd or 4th one, where she's happily croosing the street.
