I said the same thing a few days ago that people are not understanding JQX. Well said. I think things will become…
I totally agree with you both. Look at how he's living! It gave ME a stomach ache. Yu was also visibly shocked and pained. Imagine how Cherry would respond. And elixirgood is absolutely right: he's still so young, had a sheltered and privileged upbringing and has been reduced to having to take on huge responsibilities that no young person his age should have to deal with.
I think the viewers calling him selfish and all sorts of other things look at him as a man, when really he's barely out of his teen years and dealing with things many actual fully grown adults would not be able to handle.
He doesn't want her touched by his burdens. I am staying up for ep 18 but not having any expectations they will…
I agree. He's carrying a very heavy load/burden and doesn't want her to feel the least bit of temptation to give up everything to help him through his struggle. She worked really hard to get into a good school (and he also helped her with that by explaining math and physics problems). Plus, he's still young, too, and while he cares very deeply for her, I don't think he is prepared to be actively involved in a romance right now.
Also, what years does this series cover? Boys were far less emotionally evolved back then than they are expected to be today.
I do wish that we got to see a lot more of him, though. Thank you, random high school girl for posting his pretty face online.
I love this series. Need to nap soon so I can wake up in the wee hours to watch episode 18!
When u keep watching u would see that these teachers can't shut their mouth it annoyed me how they spoke to jiang…
ONG, thank goodness Cherry was at the hospital and was basically, like, sorry fellas, it's time for JQX to come home with me for lunch; the parents are waiting, and JQX was so out of there. And the Evil Mother got mad because her son "obeys" Cherry but not his own mum.
I hope I never see the actress who plays the mother in another role and immediately remember her. When I first saw the actress who plays Yifan's aunt in The First Frost appear in Forever and Ever, I was seriously triggered.
All the different friends' advice and perspectives are sooooo freaking valid. They all just want Ying Tao to be…
I agree she would have been on the first flight, but is was so funny when Yu Qiao was, like, well actually, it's not that long of a trip. But you're right in that in the end he did the right thing.
The scenes with the roommates were so good and the Edward Tulane reference made me cry, too. And how wonderful was it that the one girl hooked our sweet Cherry up with the tutoring gig to help fund her trip to find Qiao Xi and the little boy is sort of a version of him.
just finished this - it's so beautifully done! tbh i skipped over the mom's love story arc completely, xiao han…
I have to believe it was a happy ending or I won't be able to live. On my first watch, the thought of that not being true made me so upset you'd think I'd met these people in real life, so I convinced myself that all is good.
Just watched this for the first time and liked it so much even though the FL drove me mad with her hesitance and lack of social graces. I laughed a lot through this series and she improved a lot as it went on.
I feel so validated coming here and reading all the comments questioning why the FL is written so poorly. I for…
Her wardrobe was horrible. Loved it when the woman in the office told her to stop dressing like an IT chick and was relieved when he put a locator on their phones.
That said, I loved this drama and have rewatched a number of times.
For me, this series was a solid 10. It was also a slow burn in the best way because they spent so much time together from the start having fun as friends and just enjoying each other's company. Loved the scene of them standing outside of their office building having a chat and a coffee, kind of like the olden days when people went outside to have a smoke.
And then they fell in love and he couldn't stop thinking about her and it was wonderful! I feel another rewatch coming on, LOL.
I really love this drama can't comprehend how much I keep on rewatching it it's so sweet and so comforting if…
I know exactly how you feel and have lost count of the number of times I've rewatched it. One thing I love is how I have no interest in watching costume dramas, but loved these characters' interest in them and really, really enjoyed the music.
I especially loved the episode when they were on that first trip and how our ML suddenly felt like getting married and the adorable remarks about why he liked the outfit with all of the bells.
The only downside was how hungry I get while watching and my obsession with Chinese cuisine. I think I have found a recipe for braised roasted pig trotters he would approve of. And I've had a couple of UberEats deliveries of Chinese breakfast foods.
If I had a job, I might likely get fired because I can't stop watching and rewatching these dramas.
A chinese drama that gives us more than 5 minutes with the couple together on the last episode???? It's a miracle,…
I know exactly what you mean. I hate it when the final episode is mostly about the other people and it's so crazy to me because, like, who cares?!?
This series was so good and had so many laugh out loud moments. Loved the male lead and how committed he was to winning her over throughout the years. It was the perfect antidote for the emotional roller coaster that I am on with Our Generation, which I also love.

I need to drink now.

I was weepy throughout this whole episode.
This ML actor is so chic and really brings his personal style to the characters he plays here and in Boss & Me.

Why wasn't all of this in the series? Every scene was actually amazing and he met her parents!!! Her mother was so fun!!!
I want to see the ML in many more modern love stories.
I was also very happy with the ending.
