I also believe that deep down inside he knows she has zero romantic interest in him, which is why he hasn't asked her out on a date.

I think they will have a short separation because her father is going to be a huge problem for her and also have another leg injury emergency, forcing her to choose between filial love and the love of her life, which will in turn have her shedding buckets of tears daily. Thinking this comes out before Yu has all the information he needs to clear his papa's name (perhaps thanks to the asshole), and once he does, FL will be, like, sorry, dad, I'm choosing love. Sigh.

According to the novel readers who've commented here, the drama and the novel are very different. The leads don't even have the same careers. I think ML is an actor?

We are on the same page. I commented earlier that I bet that mother went straight home and told her husband about seeing Hu Xiu, leading him to investigate her. I actually hope the investigation uncovers the fact that our two love birds are together, but we'll see if it does and if the father discloses that info. Also agree that Xiu's father is going to cause the temporary breakup.

And, I wonder if Pei will try to use Yu's father's alleged connection to the accident to win over Xiu, who will not give a fig about the connection because she's a sensible girl--much to the asshole's chagrin, but will be upset that Yu's been keeping something so important from her. But it will be the father who will give us extreme agita.

It's getting so exciting!!!

If you have a choice between viki and iqiyi, go with viki for better translations. I used iqiyi because I can watch on my television, which does not support viki. But after yesterday's "I like you" and "I love you" mash up, I did a rewatch then (he said I like you) and just doing one now and oh, my!

When they were talking about how she turned the attic back into storage space, on viki it was so much sweeter:

FL: If I hadn't turned it into a storage room, I'd see you in it every time.
ML: No need to do that anymore.

Such a good point. They actually accelerated her full-time status, but no one got all pissy about it because they realize what a hard-working talent she is. In other dramas, the girls would be in the ladies room, talking about how she must have seduced Mr. Yu, while fixing their makeup and she'd overhear it while in a stall.

It was funny how Busybody Son wanted in on Xiu's special task while the others were like, no, ma'am. No overtime for me, thank you very much, lol.

I don't condone violence at all, but I want to ask Pei, "Why is your grown ass letting this tyrant physically abuse you like this? That is crazy." And I bet that man would not raise his hand to Yu, who would shut that down before the devil's hand rose two inches. Both Peis enrage me!

ZY has been keeping his mouth shut because he knows what a reckless bastard Father Pei is and that he poses a danger to people, while Son Pei throws her directly onto the firing line with his wishful thinking dinner table delusions. That mother probably went straight home and told her husband about their little episode 20 adventure to Dynamism and how she saw Xiu, leading Father Pei to investigate. But that asshole son is telling Yu he will protect her? What a laugh. You're the one who's putting her at risk and she does not even give a damn about your delusional ass.

I am desperate, desperate I tell you, for Pei to either see our lovely couple being in love or for Xiu to shut his delusions down full stop.

I think she will side with her son because even she's not dumb/passive enough to not be able to recognize the differences in their characters and personalities.

From what I've read here, the novel and the drama are completely different animals.

I think she probably loves her son more, but feels more comfortable with SML, who is more friendly toward her. Yu has been standoffish.

I suspect she knows that her son would not pursue Xiu to provoke Pei. She seems very passive, but I bet she can tell the difference between their characters and how each would react to certain situations. She's also witnessed that father-son dynamic in real life.

I, too, fear that FL's father is going to become a big pain in the ass, something that actor is so good at, lol, but I also firmly believe that love will find a way--and hopefully not in the last 5 minutes. How lovely would it be to see their life together on a lovely piece of land with a lane-inspired family home for them and their children.

Sun's a bit dim that way, like our pal Gong, lol. He got lasered by ML's eyes in that elevator. They ditched him at that dark corridor site. Now he learns ML's given her a special task; sees the sushi attack; and when he asks what the special assignment is, Zhi Yu tells him it's none of his business.

On second thought, it's probably good he doesn't figure it out because he's got a big mouth and loves to gossip.

My MDL friends: I was so very, very moved when we learned that Zhi Yu intentionally gave FL his father's sketches. What a sweet valentine! And she gave it right back when she was so enthusiastic interpreting the design and wondering what the man who created it was like. Oh, the great things they will do together in the future.

Didn't initially appreciate the BFFs busting in, but at least Rou moved out so that won't happen again. Their separate BFF chats were so cute. Gong is a bit clueless but Rou is spot on in her assessment of the situation.

Sun needs to take a hint, especially after they ditched him at that site, lol.

Now the mum thinks Xiu is Pei's heart's desire. People have speculated below that she will not like her when the truth comes out, but she's such a wet blanket that I think she'll be okay when they explain that Pei was being delulu and that our main couple had been in various stages of a relationship long before Xiu clapped eyes on that sad man.

That elaborate sushi box was yet another example of how Pei doesn't think about her first. He just wanted to impress without giving a single thought to how that might look in the office if they found out the source.

I am going to be so sad when this ends. If there is an express, I won't have the strength to resist it and I don't know what my next watch will be after the wild ride that has been this, Sniper Butterfly, Speed and Love, and Shine on Me. The good news is I think I could rewatch this from the start ASAP.
