Only on ep 4 so I'm not reviewing it yet. I just came to ask - did anyone else feel like they're doing a bad job…
on the contrary Yunqi looks paler naturally then he looked in the show. Also most chinese make up has this problem.. its not an issue specific to this show.. even RL and Desire make up is ghastly white.. almost like vampire
People keep saying EP 11 and 12 are unwatchable for them but they are some of the best episodes for me. You literally see Fan Xiao turning paler and paler as the episodes go by. Both Shulang and Fan Xiao are hurting in their own way but people only see Shulang hurting. There is literally no physical wounds on both but mentally they are fucked. I loved these episodes so much. So many layers to peel and to think about human psychology - how they react and behave based on how they have lived their lives so far. Its fascinating.
The consequences he faced weren't shown on screen but told to us by Shi Lihua. I do not think there was any romanticization…
Fan Xiao learned that lesson and let go completely in EP 14 even though that broke him inside. He says it several times he belongs in hell which means he knows his actions deserve punishment. He always had that self awareness. I think you dont understand this because the show doesnt show it explicitly but explain it through his words which are very philosophical and almost spiritual.. Fan Xiao already was living a life where every living minute felt like punishment to him and this was long before he met Shulang. It doesnt excuse his behaviour but explains it. You think he wasnt punished enough but mentally he was already getting punished even before he met Shulang. Also, morality isnt black and white.. there's the entire grayscale in between! The hurt Fan Xiao caused Shulang were all mental wounds which he fixed one by one. He atoned for his sins. He was hunted and almost burned alive and his mental health was already a mess since childhood. So I dont know what else would have satisfied you. He suffered enough and the show explains that throughout the 15 eps without explicitly explaining it..
Actors did an awesome job. The drama was good overall but the ending ruined it. I expected self development and…
The consequences he faced weren't shown on screen but told to us by Shi Lihua. I do not think there was any romanticization whatsoever. They just showed two dysfunctional people who by the end had nobody but each other to lean on. Its not like Shulang didnt try to move. Or Fan Xiao didnt atone for his sins. Their happy ending might not make sense for people looking in from the outside but to them it does. Shulang was a very lonely man and despite being socially adept he still longed for someone who would make him feel wanted and Fan Xiao was the only one who gave him that feeling.
Western people be like, how dare you try to trick me into getting my dream job which I always longed for but couldnt take coz I had to support an ungrateful leech of a brother and also gaining financial independence after years of working like a dog????
Can novel readers tell me why is fx tricking sl to join the research grp again and what's going to happen next.
Shulang always wanted to go into research. It is his dream job. But at this moment he would never work for something Fan Xiao is involved with. So in order to have Fan Xiao do this work, he is playing the villain. This way Shulang will work his dream job to save his mentor (because he is a good person).
How many chs are left? Also there are some extra chs do you think they will include those ?
TBH nothing much happens in the 12 extras excpet for them being boyfriends and being jealous of each other... and finally a proposal. If they do a 30 minute special it would have been awesome.
