I am not judging the drama based on the book. I am judging Cui Xing Zhou from the book and definitely not for the wrong reasons. I can only hope that character will do better in the drama.

*Spoilers! A lot of them!* I am so glad that I decided to read the book and pause the drama at episode 10. (I saw the previews and I was sure that I would not be able to tolerate him until he redeemed himself in some way.) I want to kick the book Cui Xing Zhou ass so bad! I have only reached chapter 54 and he continues to trample on her pride even after deceiving her for so long. There's no apology just a offer of being his concubine. Liu Mian Tang response made me like her a lot! There's still so much that isn't out in the open, her memories aren't back yet, Cui Xing Zhou doesn't yet know that she is Lu Wen. Knowing Cui Xing Zhou's temperament, he might not handle it well. Unless he deduces it himself. Gonna go finish the book hoping that maybe I'll like him by the end.

Dai Lu Wa did a good job with the character which makes me look forward to see what she has got for Fu Ling. I liked A Nian once she stopped being so bratty and treated Xiao Yao as a sister should. I especially love watching them together in the later episodes as they grew to close to each other. My opinion of her changed completely when she raised her voice against her father striking Xiao Yao's name from their family. Even I pity her, I kept hoping until the last moment that maybe she would not marry Cang Xuan for both their sakes. But at least she did get what she wanted and seemed to have accepted it later on. One thing to love about her is that she wasn't like Chenrong Xin Yue who continued to blame everyone else for what she was doing wrong.

That was my first thought as well, putting them together made me think of Cheng Yi's character Xuan Ye and Zhang Zhi Xi's Rang Qin from Immortal Samsara.

Bai Shuo is Yue Mi, True God Shang Gu's bestie who died in the formation & then turned into a stone statue. Yue Mi who has always been in love with True God Tian Qi. Fan Yue / Jing Yuan is Tian Qi, the one who raised little Gu Jin when both Shang Gu & Bai Jue were out of commision.

I want to see Yang Zi play a badass general. Just imagining the visuals of it makes me so happy.

Oh, so you are eager to watch the actors work together? Based on the trailer they released, things seemed a lot different from the book, so maybe they'll have different story arc which focuses more on romance. I would prefer they be a second couple instead of Chong Zhao holding the candle for Bai Shuo who has never reciprocated. He is a decent character. (But the character Fu Ling is kinda horrible mess)
