In my opinion, this might not be the show for you. It's 28 episodes mostly revolving around one case: it has to move slowly to fill the episode count. If you're looking for a tighter story with more palpable tension, this isn't it unfortunately.

I had the same feeling watching RJL talk about how his mother left him in the fire. Like, okay??? Where is the grief or the sadness or anything in the past 22 episodes? It's like the writers give the characters tragic backstories to flesh them out, but then don't follow through in actually creating multi-faceted characters. LQQ and Ah Sheng are both very one note despite having such complex backgrounds.

FL is very powerful, she stood up to all those cultivators already. and it's explained that she's at a low level because of her attachment to the mortal world, but she still has all the techniques from when she was in the higher levels

I'd also add Our Dazzling Days to the list of great non-idol dramas. It's slow paced, so not for everyone, but my god the story is so heartwarming and moving.

I can't lie, I get irritated by questions about romance, or even worse: kiss scenes. everyone is free to like what they like, but it's always a bit crazy to me to reduce a whole drama's value to how many kiss scenes it has. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I agree. I suspected he was dead from the end of episode 4. If he really is, it's kind of a bummer that they revealed it so early. I'm hoping it's something else just so that I can still be surprised

that whole Mr. Tan plotline was sooo forced. He's a rich man in Shanghai - there's a bunch of other places he could have booked a room with short notice.

I think allergies are also a big deal, especially when it's because the hotel isn't adhering to proper hygiene standards. A 5 star hotel with poor hygiene would probably also trend irl...

I don't think this is what the character is meant to convey at all. We never get the idea that she couldn't find someone else. What she says is that she grew up and realized she made a mistake. And also, it's not that she's "pursuing him more because he's into Miyu" — she's afraid that this sliver of a chance is going to disappear just as fast as it appeared. Remember that Ji Feng isn't even supposed to be in China. She never thought she'd get a second chance with him, and then he suddenly appears right in front of her face.

Just because she's the 2FL doesn't mean she's automatically a villain, lol.

In a show full of ridiculous moments, the most ridiculous has to be a lobby manager in a 5-star hotel walking around half the day in torn pantyhose with no care in the world... 🤣

Oh yeah, that news was announced months ago. Nonetheless, it was still a disappointing second half for me. I had big problems with the pacing, and the humor felt like it regressed.

I loved this show so much!! but the finale was a disappointment. It changed the tone of the show a bit too much for my liking. Otherwise, this is one of the best modern romantic dramas imo, even though I understand why it's not many people's taste
