I was mostly invested in Xiuyao clearing his brother's name and Ye Li's illness. With that gone, I don't really care about anything else. Mo Jingli wasn't developed enough as a character for me to care about his rebellion, and I don't care enough about the Emperor to be invested in Dachu's fight for its borders.

I really thought this would be miles above anything I've ever watched, but I ended up dropping it on episode 26 because it doesn't really feel like anything is happening. It's just 'set Li Zhen up, everyone doubts her, she proves them wrong, everyone sees that she's a great person.' And then that's repeated like 2 episodes later. The character development is an entire joke in this show.

I think maybe he was his master when they were young? when Gao Ran went to visit him, Elder Zheng talked about teaching him when he was a kid or something like that? Not sure if I'm remembering correctly. That's the only thing that made sense to me, otherwise it's really silly

I'm actually so humbled because I dropped Ashes to Crown for the flaws. and then I find the same flaws here and I don't even care, I love all the characters so much.

Is this show flawed? yes. Is the editing and plot a bit clumsy? yes. Do I love it? wholeheartedly. ♥️

Tianbiao's sacrifice was so emotional, and I felt sad watching his body drift away in space. I enjoyed getting to see him one last time with that awesome purple hair - I wish the shot had lingered to allow us to sit with the emotion a bit longer.

okay, I finished all the 4 episodes and it DOES NOT get better. it's just an amateur project with an average script and even worse editing. some people don't mind quality as long as they're being entertained, but I do. It was an easy decision to drop for me.
