I don't think this is what the character is meant to convey at all. We never get the idea that she couldn't find someone else. What she says is that she grew up and realized she made a mistake. And also, it's not that she's "pursuing him more because he's into Miyu" — she's afraid that this sliver of a chance is going to disappear just as fast as it appeared. Remember that Ji Feng isn't even supposed to be in China. She never thought she'd get a second chance with him, and then he suddenly appears right in front of her face.

Miyu is clearly going to have a huge comeback, but it's just done in such a soap opera-ish way. Like, there has to be something bad happening in every single episode. I'm not a huge fan of the over-the-top melodramatic kind of storytelling, but other than that it's a really good show. And the actors are killing it.
