The first episode was widely bashed by Chinese netizens for being full of holes. In reality the women would have…
I did question about why there were no guards around the family but I gave the writer a pass because this is a cdrama where plot logic is more honored in the breach than in the observance. Makes more sense than a soul swap as in the original novel.
I was scrolling through TikTok and saw some videos and comments talking about the ML's looks, and I couldn't help…
At last someone mentioned foundation general. I notice the change even from period dramas of 5-6 years ago. Nowadays the MLs in idol period costumed dramas just look totally out of place that it jarring.. Its like Michael Jackson or someone from BTS time slipped into the Ming or Tang dynasty.
I am "informed" by AI that in the novel, the FL dies and soul swapped into the body of the maid. What the.. I am glad that the writer of the drama used a more sensible plot!
its so rare, this drama can have 47 eps.anyway;1. is it true that ML has 1st wife ? how ? why ? when ?2. is shen…
4. If my history is correct, the "fake" painting was discovered 200 years after the fall of southern Song. So this is after the Mongol dynasty, which should be Ming.
That's why she looked so familiar! Only other actor I recognize is the FL's foster dad who is Fei Chi in Strange Tales from Tang. So far so good, shed a few tears in the first two episodes. Good sign that this is not looking like a high budget romance drama with famous idol actor or actresses.
I just wish directors in cdramas would be daring enough to remove the makeup on the leads when the scenes requires it. In the early episodes they are basically refugees and yet they have impeccable foundation on. Its just so jarring(especially for the male)and out of place when otherwise the show is attempting to impart some historical realism.
I am glad that the writer of the drama used a more sensible plot!
