Yikes, the quiet sister could be the same age as the Marquis daughter!

ahh Gu Tingye really won my heart with all his scheming tactics to get Minglan lmao.I'm not opposed to this ML…
That Gu Tingye is really well acted. He may not be good looking by today's standard, but top notch acting. You can see that he is really a big good hearted scoundrel. For comparison, the ML in Road to Splendor didn't do it for me.

People are mentioning Ming Lan in comparison to this. I'm actually watching it for the first time now. The general also entrapped Ming Lan to be be his wife using crafty divisionary tactics(Make noise in the west , attack in the east). It was so fun to watch. Here, the ML just went for the Nuclear option.

I'm all for a good FL but ep14 ending was a bit too on the nose. Gimme a break lol
I agree that the FL needs to fallible a bit else she will be like wonder woman.

More like he successfully suppressed the main pirate force but can't totally eradicate 100%.

Actually I think it is xiaolan besides yuchan near the end of the opening credits. She's no longer in a low level maid dress and the FL is probably the madame already.

I don't think Xiaolan appears in the maids drinky-do party in ep19 teaser. She could be gone by then. But the fact that we care so much about a side character show how well the show is written.

Smart move by the writer. Keeps us in suspense. I lost count of the posters here who are worried about her.

TBH, I don't quite like the teaser showing the Du sister as Jack Sparrow confronting the FL with a flintlock pistol, I hope the drama doesn't go overboard on dramatics and keep it grounded. Excessive palace politics always kill these type of series for me anyway.
