Some things I need to get off my chest. THE ENTIRE DRAMA'S SPOILERS ARE HERE. Read at your own risk.
- Zhu Yan's death was so sad, but necessary - Chang Ge and Jian Er's deaths were sad, but unnecessary. She had a terminal illness! Why not wait for her inevitable death and his death of a broken heart or su*c*de. (*i*i) - I reeaaallllllyyyy thought Chang Ge was Emperor Ai. It would have been a much better plot twist. - Before the final battle (in the palace) when Qing Ci said he had a surprise (the fireworks) for Yun Luo and she said she had one too (also fireworks) for him, I thought she meant she would tell him that she was preggers. I mean, they had a kid around the same age as the years that passed after the final battle. So.... - Whhhhyyyy did they introduce Jiang Er as Chang Ge's love interest. I felt ZERO chemistry between them. He was better off having a platonic relationship with Ah'Yan. (They had a stronger bong. Soulmates).
Things to love about this drama after just 5 episodes:
- It's a fun watch with moments that have you rooting for both MLs q(≧▽≦q), even though you can guess who she'll end up with. - Ban Ji Min (Kim Tae Woo from Mr. Queen) is hilarious in this. Alost makes you want to forgive him for plotting again Cheol Jong. - The inner monologues of Derrick and Ji Hoon are adorable and will have you cracking up.
The story is good. The acting is okay. The music is great. In almost 12 episodes, RFY was able to give me a wonderful costume drama with riveting palace politics, a flawless coup d'etat, a heart racing love story and Ju Jing Yi in not one, but TWO gorgeous wedding dresses.
What more could I ask for?
There is no need for me to continue. I don't want to see them struggling with love rivals, easily resolvable misunderstandings and an unnecessary breakup for the next TWENTY EIGHT EPISODES.
TWENTY EIGHT.
This drama has a happily ever after right here, right now at the start of episode 12.
This is the third time they've been paired up!!!
I LOVE THEM TOGETHER! So excited for this!
