This man, he just keeps lying. Poor LMT lmaoooo.

They definitely would not have. I wrote it there. They showed longing on both their parts and not once did the fl look down on, insult or belittle the ml because she was not arrogant. They showed her trying to move on, catching herself when she wondered how he was doing, etc. In the entirety of the novel, whether she was LMT who found out she had been lied to, or LMT who completely forgot about CXZ and the life they built together and remembered being Lu Wen, she had respect for that man and his intelligence.

Because of the terrible deviation from the novel, I have found myself re-reading the fall out of the leads and honestly, the writers threw away the chance to show the magnitude of yearning from CXZ's part. Reading the separation and what CXZ was going through is so much more touching and interesting because of the character description, plot build up and story progression.

This man started writing a diary of sorts because of how much he missed her. He had to start writing about his day in the military and then he sent them to her because what else could he do? He was full on going through it. Excerpt:
"For instance, the cat she had left in the courtyard had given birth to a litter of kittens. He had chosen a white kitten with a black-tipped tail to keep in his command tent. Because it was as fond of sleeping in as she was, he named it Sleeping Immortal, with the courtesy name Mian’er (Sleepy)."

He planted a valley of flowers that she liked in the place where he had a hot spring pool built. But they attracted bees. And he still insisted on going there to bathe and so was stung several times. Just because he missed her.

CXZ was very headstrong and overbearing, but they showed his emotions so well. Even in the novel, they expressed his longing more than hers. So you know the problem novel readers have is not that he longed for her or that he pursued her. But that with the way the writers chose to write the characters for the drama, they ruined the balance and just everything.

Viki is the saviour of Mango TV omg. I think they should be the ones that want mango tv to actually hire English translators the least lol.

I am not saying he is a good emperor. He has not done anything for the kingdom to say if he is good or not. But he is good at strategising, using people to his own benefit. He used the cards he was dealt well. The writers changed many things about Ziyu, so I can only speak much on novel Ziyu. Ziyu in the novel also seemed weak until the end. Then it showed that he really was using everyone and managed to eliminate his burdens and test loyalties without having to do much.

That is not really why. It is because she is useful. I don't know if they will change things, but in the novel, they strategised together, even though both acted weak, and especially her, foolish, ignorant and only concerned with food, in public. And she was more on his side than on the side of her family. So that political pressure from being manipulated by your family to bring benefits from the emperor was not really there from her.

He's not a moron. He's a schemer that is pretending to be weak.
She is not going to die. But they will be together until one of them dies. How can they divorce when they are emperor and empress?
And although she does not live in blissful happiness, she will live well. In the novel, she was very well favoured by Ziyu. If they had done things well according to novel timeline, she should have given birth to the first child by now, the crown prince.

Actually, Ziyu is not dumb or weak per se. He is strategist and a user. He is actually quite smart. He would have lost his life if not for the old ministers that protected him. And there was actually no way for a child to grow up safely and plan a successful rebellion without the help of other smart and powerful people. And he needs these people that are there to stabilise his position because they did not help him for free. So as sad as it is for LMT and sad as it is for Miss Shi, I don't blame him too much. He had his father's honor to protect and a rightful position to get back.

When his position is stabilised, the next thing would be to eliminate those that want to keep controlling him and stand in his way. Him using CXZ is not something that is unexpected. That is good strategy.

I can't say for the drama because they changed things.

In the novel, CXZ was supposed to report to the capital after that war. In the order of things, after LMT found out about being lied to and found out his identity and confronted him, they were held back because her uncle was involved in the illegal ore smuggling and he was supposed to receive a death sentence if CXZ reported him. But he didn't. Instead, CXZ reported the incident in such a way that the main culprits worked hard to cover their traces and somehow made sure that her uncle's name was not mentioned. So some time after that, she and her uncle left the barracks and went back to their hometown. By that time, CXZ was unable to leave because he had to finish up military affairs. But after he left, he noticed something brewing in the capital and decided to sloww down the march of the army. This was when Ziyu succeeded with taking over the throne. In this time space, CXZ pursued LMT again and was able to get her to sign the marriage agreement with him, making them officially engaged. Then they left for the capital to report.

So when LMT arrived in the capital, it was with CXZ and as his fiancee. And CXZ petitioned the emperor, as his reward from the war, to allow him go back and marry his fiancee and to reward her because of her contributions in the war. Because she came with him as his fiancee, he was eligible for the title of princess. But Ziyu gave her a lower title because he was very reluctant and it made sense because she was not yet married to him. That is the County Princess. If they were married, she would have gotten a higher title.

They ruined his character

I think he needs to pursue her because of their fake marriage. But also because there is logically no future for them together with her status and reputation and with his own status. Remember how they said even Miss Lian was unworthy of being his primary wife. And she is aware of this. So him being the one that sees the possibility of making it happen and has the ability to do so should be the one doing the pursuing. Does not mean he needs to grovel or become a simp because that is just unnecessary and out of character.

She is just really smart. She has had to lay low to survive all her life. But she needs to survive. She is a good person, but she needs to play the game if she wants to live well. And the stakes are higher now because of who she married and the position she's in.

The age difference between the male and female LEADS is five years. And that is the only thing that is important. Let actors do their jobs and act please. Unless there becomes a law that prohibits actors from acting in roles where their characters is different in age from them in real life.

I recommend reading the novel. It is sooo much fun. Novel LMT was a bag full of tricks.


Because of what she did to Fan Hu and his guys, they got demoted by CXZ to work in her escort agency lmaooo. And this was his compromise because he wanted to skin them alive. Fan Hu wanted to retire and go live with his family because of the stress, but he also couldn't even do that in the end lol.

Thank you so much. This is exactly it. People see LMT as a pure innocent person with no criminal past, that the ml picked up from the street and deceived for shits and giggles. They forget that she was a threat to national security and that he did what he had to do to preserve it. And this was what he chose to do after what happened on Changsi festival night.
Honestly, if you look at things logically, LMT paid a painful price for her own actions. And we are sympathetic because amnesiac LMT is real LMT. The type that will invest her whole heart to help the person she loves.
So as much as ml is in the wrong, she is too. Treating him too badly is uncalled for and shows ingratitude. But for them to be together again, he has to pursue her because obviously lol.

It seems like they are finally going back to the novel plot for today's episodes.
