Its due to the same reason, why FL can have multiple ex b.f's but ML have to be Ultra-Virgin, to appease the certain…
HT clarified all these things in the show. He did not have any intimate relationship with ZD. They were just friends. And he did not have any relationships in Germany. He said even to ZD that he was too busy when he was there. He only worked and slept.

It is quite annoying. Even first love when they are about to hit their thirties. You don't even have to have dated at all, but do you mean you NEVER had a crush on anyone? That is very rare.
I am not looking forward to watching the last chapter of the adaptation on screen. I cried so much reading it to start with. Watching it will be worse. But reading it reminded me of QOT ending's beautiful but sad.

That part is also very very annoying. They changed too many important things for no good reason. Changing ZD's original relationship with HT was okay, but they did not have to erase all the women he had relations with while in Germany.
In my mind, they stayed close to the novel because all the key quotes are directly out of the novel.
They stayed close to it and added some stuff to make it fuller, especially the romance aspect. But that is also a problem. They should have stayed closer to the character descriptions since they were going in that direction. I was not this annoyed at novel JX. I barely was annoyed because in the novel, there was someone to call her out and she reflected. That was what HT did. Now in the drama, he does not do any of that in their personal lives. But they kept the part about people calling HT out and giving him advice to be better. They lost the balance.
Yesterday I was focused on reading comments that explained JX's pov post-break up because I was trying to understand and then I saw something that annoyed me again.
From translations of an interview Xu Kai and Seven did for the show, apparently to HT, love is more important than his career and to JX, love is important, but she will not lose herself because of it. This explains all the major problems with this adaptation. They changed their characterisations and made it cliche and still kept the plot of the novel. So many things don't make sense. Hearing this is asking if they even read the novel at all? What was the reason they chose to adapt this novel and not others? Were they drawn by the popularity of the novel and fame of the writer, or by what made the story different?
All I'm seeing is that it is only one person doing the pining and reflecting and not another person and I'm so…
HT and JX, I'm sorry that they did your characters so dirty. They wanted to make JX less immature, but somehow decided that it would be wise to remove the part where she had Chang He transfer 7% of his shares to her, making her the largest shareholder. She was unwise to trust Chang He, but at least she had a better plan. With that deal, she could combine with either chang he or SZZ to be the biggest shareholder. Now all by himself, HT had the absolute largest sway in her company. Also, in the novel, JX did not run away from the company. She went for the meeting and even asked if she could give 1% of her shares to YC because of his investment. Then on her way out, she was approached by the new president for the VP role. He convinced her he came on his own and it was because of her abilities and the fact that she worked on Bay in Guanghua and XC and knows their tech intimately, so she was the best person for the job. After she thought it through and agreed, she signed on and went for a 3 month training in the US immediately. Now they have also decided to expand QL storyline for no good reason. I'm quite disappointed.
Since JX is doing fine now, can she see that her definition of love was crazy? Is she reflecting on herself?????
I'm only this upset because someone is doing enough damage to himself good enough for 3 people and the other person looks like they are having a better time.
Honestly, writers should either take the Love's Ambition route for adaptations or the AASSOL route. You either take key parts like the character names and part of the plot, then re-write like 70% of the story, or you stick to it like your life depends on it, probably changing only 10-15% of the story.
They changed too many things here. In the beginning, it was okay, but now they are deviating from what made the novel different. It is now looking like a second BCE type.
All I'm seeing is that it is only one person doing the pining and reflecting and not another person and I'm so upset. JX in the novel was immature and a spoiled brat, but at least she reflected. HT also was also good at calling her out. The way they handled everything in the novel made me actually look forward to them getting back together. Even when he was heartbroken and when he asked her to get back together twice, the second after he said he would not do it again, I still rooted for them because it all made sense. But it seems like they have ruined the good storytelling of the novel to make it more cliche and I can't take it.
Give me immature, spoiled JX and aggressive, cold & harsh HT over whatever is currently going on in this show any day. I want to re-read the novel, especially this whole conflict to resolution part, but I'm afraid it'll make me more upset. What to do?
I think that’s basically her problem in this relationship. She needs to grow out of fantasy and into reality…
I actually do not trust LiLi to do the job. She comforts and is there for them, but she does not really confront unless asked. And I'm not sure she sees how JX is wrong here.
