I have a question. Do the novel readers enjoy watching the drama? I am not watching the drama, but I recently…
I've seen a few comments about the drama being somewhat childish in the earlier episodes. I think it is because they tried hard to adapt the first part of the novel, before and during filthy valley with the huge age changes. In the novel, NY was 8 years old and MZT, the physical oldest was like 15/16. JY was 14, although he was slightly older than that in his original body in his original sect. And JY was never childish because he had lived longer and had many more powerful experiences. So you can imagine trying to adapt those vital changes when the actors are practically adults. The time skip was also 10 years.
I have a question. Do the novel readers enjoy watching the drama? I am not watching the drama, but I recently finished reading the novel. Reading it felt like it would be difficult to adapt it the way it is in the novel. Bringing all those descriptions to life sure had to be very tasking.
I know this may sound unsympathetic, but now JYH's mom is sick again and someone said in the preview, that the doctor gave her 1-2 months to live. So I wonder if they will get caught in this whole situation.
I just realised that the two of them will have to go through the secret office romance stage. How will they handle…
Fl will definitely keep the secret. The question is how Rao Jing and ZFG will deal with their own office relationship being revealed. Especially if they decide to get married. The leads already have an agreement on how to handle theirs.
How does ML become demon?cuz ML used self-destruction technique to kill himself, so did he survive the death by…
NY's real father helped him. He is trapped in the Yellow Springs, he actually is basically the Yellow Springs River, so he is in filthy valley. This is because of Ying Ze Wei. He has been there for hundreds of years. His name is Jiming and he is actually really powerful. He should have ascended to godhood by now, but he did not want to. And like NY, he practices Buddhism. The same type that NY will now practice, which is very different from the normal Buddhist cultivation. JY was meant to take care of NY for him.
Becoming a demon was also the only way for him to survive. It is not really that he is a demon, but that he turned towards demonic cultivation. So one of the things NY endlessly tried to do was to bring him back to the light, the righteous path lmaoo. She wanted to convert him and all her brothers and practically other people into budhist cultivators. It was too funny. She kept trying.

He was not reborn. He joined the souls that floated in the yellow river. But then because of the love lock between him and NY, he survived with his memories. NY thought about him and MZT constantly. There were times she'd think about their memories and experiences. They tethered him because he felt and saw it as she thought about him. There is another big spoiler to how he survived in the yellow river.
I'm done watching ep.15. the trailer for ep.16, shows Ji Yang is becoming the Master of Netherworld. my question…
There is a time after they reunite, where it is like he forget her, but she gets suspicious of him because of some of the things he says and does. In the novel, they are never enemies. Their natures are supposed to repel each other, but it doesn't really happen, and JY is willing to bear any kind of discomfort to be with her.
How are NY's feelings for JY? You mentioned he would sacrifice anyone for her and she's his one and only but nothing…
In the novel, the big gestures and lines are really all from JY. She never explicitly says that she likes him, but he tells her many times. But she tells and shows him in other ways. The problem or reason for this was because in the novel, they met when they were kids. JY had been framed and possessed a new body that was 14 years old. NY was 8, MZT was 16 and YY was 15. JY, NY and MZT met at the entrance test for their sect. NY's mother was asking all the boys around to get her engaged to them because she knew she did not have a lot of time left. MZT agreed to be her sworn brother, but not her romantic partner. JY wanted to be her brother too because of her necklace. He needed the power from it to hide the fact that he had possessed a body, but she was as round as a ball and he thought she was cute that way. But then her mother knew what he was up to and tricked him into a bride contract and the love lock. Long story short, NY developed a crush on JY. He taught her to read and write, to build her cultivation and really really took care of her. JY became really fond of her. They were in the sect for a year before going to the filthy valley. JY tricked NY and sent her away and basically perished. MZT went missing and since they sealed the valley and because of the circumstances of their separation, she believed MZT and JY died. So it was only her and YY left and they through a monk that came to them, sought refuge in a monastery. So because she missed them badly and felt really guilty, she became a monk. So her resistance stems from being a buddhist. She is not meant to involve herself in secular life. She would have even shaved her head, but the abbot vehemently prevented her from doing so because he wanted her to live differently and that was the compromise they came to.
So yes, NY is also in love with JY. He is the only one that makes her waver.
What happens to Shao Cang too! Can you summarise the ending
He becomes the god of the underworld. It is generally a happy ending for everyone, although SC sacrifices himself and is almost "lost". Because of his sacrifice, he has to become the god of the netherworld and so is meant to be cut off from the living. But NY persuades him to stop and to come back in the end. I do not really know how to explain it beyond this especially because I am not watching the drama and there are many details in the book.
I have finished reading the novel and am now at a loss for what to do. I want to erase my memory of it and start again.
Mu Zhanting is an absolute menace with fluctuating intelligence like NY says lmao. But other than his beloved poetry, he loves NY, his little sister, something fierce. Poetry and NY are his most treasured things. YY is vain as hell. His appearance is extremely important to him. NY is a cutie with the best big brothers. She is actually extremely fortunate because how she met them and got entangled with the best people to be sworn siblings was practically miraculous. JY is very sly, scheming and unscrupulous. NY is his one and only. He can sacrifice everyone for her. But I loved how they wrote him as someone who loved fiercely the things or people he loved. Like the chubby bird he could not bring himself to let go off even before he got framed.
