On My Dearest Part 2 Oct 20, 2023
WM did not have to prove to us that he is who we think he is, my goodness. Was it his pride that powered him to make that journey? Was it pressure and expectations from EA and YJ and GC's family? Because how did he travel all the way there, fight with the slave trader and then MANAGE to turn around without even seeing his WIFE? It is mind-boggling. I actually expect him to come back, or not want to let her go the moment he sees her again. I'm actually really really curious what his next steps are, cuz this can't be the end.

My question this week has been if YWS and SGQ die or leave, what are Ziyu and GSJ meant to do? They need to procreate and continue their lineages but do they expect them to marry other women to achieve that? That thought is soo heartbreaking

Me too..I prefer they separate but alive like the 2nd CP but here it feels like the FL is going to her death?!…
It would be a stupid plan to replace her in the Gong mansion because she will get caught in her first interaction with even JinFan, and what is the actual game plan from there

the elders lost his respect when they bend long tradition rules for GZY. He had realised that Young Elder Xue…
They bent ONE rule and that was because the test master agreed. It was also a minor rule and was bent for good reason. All the events were unprecedented. People keep talking about this one rule and forgetting that GSJ made a request for something unprecedented to be done too and got away with it.
In a normal progression of events, The candidates for Young lord are meant to go through the trials first, qualify for the position and then serve as Young Lord before taking over the sword wielder position upon the death of the current one. But they had to do absent succession and give it to Ziyu because GSJ was not in the residence and there was no time. Then GSJ made them send Ziyu to the trials even though it was risky (he could die) and the elders did not want to agree because of that reason and because it had never happened before.
The thing is, Ziyu needed those trials because they made him more capable and were the crash course he needed to be able to bear the heavy responsibility of being sword wielder in the shortest amount of time. So really, I do not fault him for his suggestion. At the same time, loyalty is a trait the sword wielder is supposed to have and that trials are to test if they have all they need to be sword wielder in the first place. Test their persistence and capability, their ability to bear their own responsibilities (from the first and second trials). So when THE ELDERS CALLED ZIYU (they should not have called him in the first place if it was going to brake the rules because what did they expect him to do?) and he chose to be loyal to the family he was training to protect, they saw it as a characteristic of good leadership and bent the rules. How is that wrong?

Arrrggghhh!!! I wanna rant! How could the whole Gong Family including the Elders let GSJ run the whole interrogation…
I completely agree with everything you've said. It is a very very very annoying thing

Title My Journey to You Spoiler
I started this show fully aware that it would likely end in tears, but along the line, I got greedy. Now my nightmare has come. They should have named the show "My journey away from you" instead because they just crushed our hopes and dreams and hearts with the ending.

I do not know about y'all, but I prefer open endings where the concerned characters are alive because I have a rich imagination and can complete the story myself and to my satisfaction. But let me go and cry in the corner first.

The director can receive all the comments about the ending and write a longer and better one in the novel, after all, I do not think they have released all the chapters of the novel right?

I love how you worry about the practicality of it 😆 But seeing how the cinematography is done I’m pretty…
My brain picks interesting things to focus on lol. I just kept thinking about all the possibilities with an accident.

I do not know whether it is intentional or not, but the costuming for both lead couples is reminiscent of their relationships. Ziyu and YWS usually wear matching clothes. Whether in colour, tone or style. For the two of them, they are well matched, the same type of people inside. The soft-hearted kind. Their relationship also has a noticeable progression, like they're in sync with each other. Even though YWS is the best liar in this whole show lol, there is truth in some of the things she tells him, especially to encourage or comfort him. There is also honesty in her heart, and so in many of her actions towards him because he has moved her.
Our 2nd couple on the other hand has been playing mind games between each other. Like a game of chess, trying to entrap the other. One of deceit and distrust, so they cannot be in sync. Even their values do not match. They are attracted to each other, but because of their identities & personalities, GSJ is more honest with his affections, while she is currently unwilling to put him above her mission. She uses her affections in this game of chess, even though it seems like he is withdrawing from doing the same. GSJ truly lost the war yesterday, because even if he wins any small battle again, he'll likely lose to her in the end.

My God, don't be a drama queen. If you don t like it don't watch it.
It is not abuse. They trained the men the exact same way. The only difference is that they started specifically training women to infiltrate the Gong residence during the wedding ceremony since they were looking for wives, not husbands.
Although it is a patriarchal family, the Gongs have their guards high and can only trust those blood related to them. Lady Wuji, YWS and SGQ are outsiders because they are not blood related. Also, neither of them has children for the Gongs that could tie them to the family. So there is no real reason to fully trust them.

Some side thoughts while watching todays episodes:
1.The entire Gong residence, both front and back hill, is built around bodies of water. That is either meaningful or the director likes bodies of water as part of the set.
2. One small earthquake would lead to a loss of those important texts in the Yue residence lmao. Or one badly located fight. They are just casually placed near water and I wonder whose idea that is.

I have no hope in SGQ & GSJ being endgame because her family is still alive and they are actually in partnership with Wufeng. Remember what she told YWS when they were waiting for their identities to be confirmed. Her family joined hands with Wufeng, but pretended that she was sick to cover up the fact that she was training. This way, they look like an ordinary family. It is a good cover.
As for YWS, we do not know her background story, but we know she had a sister and it seems as though they were the only relatives they had left. That means that now that her sister is dead, the fortnight flies were the biggest things to tie her to the organization and that's not as strong as the tie between SGQ's family & Wufeng. In this case, it is much easier for YWS to risk her life even to protect Ziyu, if she is swayed enough to put him above her mission.

Think about the time frame of these incidences. It has been less than a month since YWS and SGQ entered the property…
I understood your statement. And that is why I said in summary, that everything takes time to achieve. Everything that changes requires time to change. Just like how children develop and learn and grow from birth before they become legal adults at the age of 18 (in most countries). That change you're looking for will not happen in 1 month, but it will happen. It is also evident that he is changing little by little. You just have to look properly. He's currently going through a crash course, with all many people helping him, so he'll be fine.

SGQ says it's curiosity. But perhaps to his detriment, it could also be that GSJ feels it's better to keep enemy…
That would mean he knows the two of them are kind of a team and he does not know that. Remember that they pretended to dislike each other so that the guys would feel comfortable picking the two of them as brides, since there is enmity between the cousins.

Btw do you have any idea what was written on the curtain by Wu Ming when we saw Wuji unconscious? Wasn't subbed.…
I have no idea.

Exactly. I said it before, that Ziyu is the one that has the most capability to change things in his family with…
It is not a gilded cage? Do you mean it's just a cage then? Like it's a suffocating prison? Because no way you don't think they are free in that place. Imagine the fact that even the sword wielder cannot leave freely. The women cannot leave the residence once they are married in. Is that not a cage?

If you actually think about it, GSJ and Ziyu's situations are similar when it comes to their love lives. Ziyu is open and trusting and the more he falls for YWS, the more open he is. So at the moment, he cannot sense any danger (also, she's just really really good at her job lol). GSJ on the other hand is a sceptic. His past experience has made him doubtful of people and his experiences from carrying out his duties for the family only further cemented this and made him more wary and more attuned to people. It is just like his heightened ability to perceive blood from a distance. GSJ is suspicious of SGQ and is playing a cat and mouse game with her, but also can't help himself. The best way to prevent danger is to get rid of every early sign of it and instead of doing that, curiosity made him pick her to be his bride. And now affection is causing him to practically throw caution to the wind. He does not trust her, but he cannot send her away. Instead, he's allowing her to draw closer to him. Aren't these two just hopeless?
