It started off soooooo well and then became cheesy. Why!! I had hoped for the ML to be smarter and for the FL…
Everyone is going through development. Not all Mls must be smart at the start because there are very many different kinds of people in this universe, with their different stories. The ml here is a really young guy that grew up spoiled and without responsibilities because he just was not interested from what he saw while growing up. Now he has to deal with the a very sudden, but huge change in his life. He lost the rest of his biological family overnight, without warning whatsoever, and now has to bear the weight of the entire clan and the crushing responsibility, when he had zero duties before. And he had to take up this role 2 seconds after finding out his father and brother were murdered.
Ziyu is a baby. He is just a few years older than Yuanzhi, who is still not an adult, so you can even see similarities in the way the two of them behave. They are quite immature. Ziyu is also painfully inexperienced, having been so far removed from the family business all his life. So he needs guidance, encouragement and some scolding. But he will learn and he will grow. He's getting everything he needs to grow and it will be slow, but then quick. Let's give him a chance to grow up like he should.

Personally I think ZS is older than Huanyu because everyone calls her Eldest Young Miss but we have not seen any…
But their titles are not relative to each other. It is based on their genders and their positions in their families. Like before Huanyu was called Young Lord, he may have been called Eldest young master because he has a younger brother. They have not yet shown everyone's families probably because they are still developing the story and revealing stuff or because those other people may just be irrelevant. Zishang has a younger brother and may have a younger sister as well.
I actually doubt that she is older than Huanyu because she looks younger and mostly because if she was older, they would most likely have urged her to get married earlier because she's a girl and girls usually get married younger, especially in that time period.

I feel like ziyu is a descendant of some powerful
I'm not sure about that. He is most likely the son of the former sword wielder, but just a gifted kid. Like he may be special in some way or something.

Every time SGQ cries, I start laughing because she just lies through her teeth at that moment. She and GSJ use their feelings like chess pieces. Like they may be there, but the game they're playing with each other is more important, so they will use those feelings to their benefit. It is interesting to see the contrast between the romances of both main cps.
I have to give it to YWS. She's actually a better seductress than SGQ. I feel like if GSJ was her target, she would have won him over too. He may not have fallen in love with her, but still. GSJ's real type is women with crazy eyes lol. I've been calling SGQ the one with crazy eyes since her first appearance lol.

I honestly believe Jin Fan is not unaffected by Zishang. He may be done with her antics lol, but he's not unaffected by her.

Everyone is serving face in this show. Even young Jin Fan was so cute, a handsome boy. I want to put him and Young master Xue into my pocket lol. The character I'm most excited to see is Young master Xue. I really like the portrayal of his character. An older wise guy now in a younger body. They need to explain his story later.

Ziyi is a cutie. So adorable. He's actually really long. You know because in many shows, they say the character is still young as a form of encouragement or to excuse behaviour, so we've now gotten used to it. GYZ is still a teenager and from today's episode, we can see that young GYZ was not much smaller than young Ziyu, so they probably have a 3-5 year age gap. So Ziyu is definitely in his very early 20s. Huanyu was the oldest, followed by GSJ or ZS.

Ziyu is the only character that I'm almost a 100% sure (almost just to not speak like I wrote the story with the director lol) will survive in the end. The other characters do not have even nearly the same probability lol.

I can't wait for GSJ and GYZ to learn about Ziyu. I hope they make it very satisfying.
I'm so happy I did not doubt Jin Fan. He seemed to really care about Ziyu and his story makes me sad. I always wondered why Ziyu had a guardian, but the other cousins did not. It was odd, even if we said he was weak, it still was a bit odd. Ziyu must be something special because he has a rare red jade guardian as his bodyguard. Even Ziyu and Zishang did not know they existed, which means the elders most likely do not have them as protectors either. And to be able to convince the elders to let a rare talent like that to guard Ziyu would not have been possible without good reason.

I would prefer SGQ to die instead of GSJ, I can't part from him 🤣
Lol. That is a possibility though that I did not include. For that couple, they kinda share a 50-50 chance of dying

I do not really think of him as anonymous, like he could or could not be, although from the trailer, the back of the head of the person that killed the elder is most likely male. But with all the suspicions, I wonder what his reason is for his actions.

Yeah, I was going to correct that. It was from GSJ's perspective

Title My Journey to You Spoiler
The things that made me look at Huanyu funny are He went to "interrogate" the assassin and the whole scene was odd, plus they showed it only briefly, so what was the point in showing it at all? Then when GHZ came, he made a comment about someone else being there and touching his poisons, but they did not bother to elaborate or show Huanyu or anything. That was odd.
If all of what we speculate is true, that Huanyu faked his own death, then that means he may have had his father killed, but why? And that means that he set Shangjue up so that he would not be eligible to inherit, thereby leaving the position to Ziyu. One then has to wonder if he did that because he recognises Ziyu's abilities like former elder Yue, or if he's counting on Ziyu as everyone sees him, an immature guy that does not want Gong family responsibility.

It's the writings inked on the Sword Wielder's back. That's why her target is to be the Sword Wielder's bride.
That is a very long game, if they even know about the tattoo. It seems like GSJ does not even know about it and Ziyu only knew because his biological father had it. The existence of it is a secret that even trusting Ziyu does not want YWS to know about. I believe the sword wielder position is only taken over upon the death, so unless they knew when the former one was going to die, they would not have sent her there for it. They have 15 days to provide valuable information in order to get relief from the bugs. That means that if they do their jobs well enough, the Wufeng group would be able to successfully get what they really want from the Gongs and infiltrate them without having to wait more than a year or so. So why would they need the tattoo, if they know about it, when they need to wait for an indefinite amount of time to get it? And if the tattoo was YWS's mission, she would have been plotting to see backs a long time ago.

I think for the ending of this show, it is possible that GSJ dies and Shangguan Qian survives and lives out her life somewhere with their child (if she's really pregnant). As for Ziyu and YWS, I do not think he will die, but they both might survive and he'll let her live her life freely, away from all of this. Then it will be up to her to decide if she wants to keep living away from him in her freedom or not. That is a place where an open ending can come in.
Ziyu has the capability to change many of the old Gong rules for the better. Give the women more power and freedom. We say that the Gong family is patriarchal, but they have their reasons. It justifies and does not justify their actions at the same time. Which is why some of their rules need amendment. I believe that if the Wufeng is taken care of to some extent, they can open up a bit at least. Also, about them being patriarchal, they are also big on hierarchy and position. The Gong family blood members are all treated with respect and can treat the servants however, even GZS that is a girl. These things are not uncommon in the time that this story exists.

The thing though is in the trailer, from the VoiceOver and her actions, her next step is to attack the Young Lord during the wedding ceremony. Her mission cannot be to see the ink on the sword wielder's back because the wedding ceremony was for the young Lord and not the sword wielder in the first place. And the young Lord does not have the tattoo. Wufeng also did not send them in there to kill the sword wielder, at least not in the early stages of their missions. That's why they were surprised too about the deaths.

I'm so sorry, but GSJ annoys the heck out of me, even more than his brother. Him slapping Ziyu in the hall was very unnecessary. He's smart and he prioritises the family, but he is also something of a hypocrite. I do not even understand why he and his brother hated Ziyu so much. They have doubts about him being a Gong, so the fact that he was so removed from the family business should make them happy no? Ziyu never wanted to be the Sword wielder, but because of what they're doing, they are increasing the desire and determination in him. And why do they keep acting like it is his fault that he came to that position? It feels like his transferring the anger of two missed opportunities to him when he had nothing to do with either.
And his brother is spoilt and very annoying because he has his back always. That boy needs discipline no matter if he is a sad boy or not.

Anyway, I await everyone's character development. Ziyu, although he is kind and smart, is naive. He does not have the same exposure and experience others have. Because he's young and because of his childhood, he's also easily provoked and can be brash. I hope all the cousins come together to fight their enemies because this in-fighting at this time is just not it. That's catastrophic.
