I think the last statement Hwaran makes in the preview for next week is to Won about his mother. The way she had…
I just watched the preview again and instead of what I wrote before about Hwaran's statement being to Won in the preview, I believe it is to her husband about his mistress. That would make more sense overall, and reconcile the low probability of her having offered Won's mom money and the other explanation I gave. Anyway, I think Hwaran's redemption arc lies with her treating her son better. The upcoming altercation with her husband may be a step in the right direction for her.
Waiting for the reveal to LMX and DZY, when they finally find out who Wen Shun really is. HY is gentle and kind, but he is also very calculative and decisive. He's not naive, but people think he is because of how gentle and kind he is. Today's incident was an eye opener lmao. I watched that scene of HY killing Minister Jiang like 20 times because I absolutely loved looking at HY so ruthless. It reminded me of how I felt when Ling Bu Yi of LLTG massacred his uncle and his family. I watched that entire episode, especially that scene with full attention. Completely enraptured. The meaning behind it and the way it was shot, wow. Just like today.
She probably feels her dad marrying Won's mom displaced her own, so her petty, vindictive ass has a childhood…
I actually think that she may have been jealous that Won had loving parents. It is possible her mother and father were not in love with each other, but theirs was a business marriage. Then when her mother passed away or something, her father fell in love with a nice woman, and because Won was born from a loving couple, he was showered with love. She probably felt jealous of the attention Won got as a child.
I think the last statement Hwaran makes in the preview for next week is to Won about his mother. The way she had been acting nasty and high and mighty about his mother since the beginning made me feel like she had a hand in why she left. And Won's mom probably did not leave because she was given money to either. It would not make sense because she was legally married to the chairman, so money would definitely not be her issue if she married him for his wealth. Something else must have happened that caused her to leave. I also think that the chairman is still hurt by Won's mother leaving. And because he experienced how a love match between him and a woman in the company did not work out, he thinks Won and Sarang will end up the same way. That's why he sent her away. Like this is a situation that may happen later, if you experience it earlier, a future problem might be prevented, something like that. Anyway, I think the thing Sarang says she wants to tell Won would be about his mother. Probably that he should talk to her or something. You can see the way she's trying to approach him carefully on what she has to say.
LMX keeps on treating HY like he's his father. He's taking everything out on him and that is not fair at all. Without HY, DZY would have been long dead. There would have been no one to be the icon of this revenge story. It is also because of HY that they had a better chance to get justice because HY stayed true to character and was honest, and stood up for them, pressed his own family for the truth, so he does not deserve this at all.
KTL finally answered my age old question on what GuWon used to do with his time, before he came back to Korea. And why he kept on telling his sister that he had money. The man was working as a consultant, maybe among other things too. Impressive. Anyway, Hwaran really fumbled her bag. Did she really think, all these years, that her brother was not smart? If she played her cards right, GuWon would have been miles away from Korea bruh. The only reason he is back is because he wants info on his mother, and she seems to be in the know. He also started fighting her because she kept on taunting him, then he wanted to take care of the employees. If she gave him what he wanted and left him alone, she wouldn't even need to fight this fight. But for whatever crazy reason, she wants to take everything he has and could have.
Since prison does not want to hold Han Je Kyun, it makes me believe he wants to transition to the afterlife instead. In a situation of his own making. The actor has done a great job of grating on my nerves with the way he speaks and his mannerisms
FOMH, I'll miss you very much. I had something to look forward to everyday with this show. I'm really grateful to the screenwriter(s) because the ball was not dropped on this adaptation. It is difficult to find a live action adaptation of good literature, and this one managed to not only do a good job, but to make it even fuller and more complete. They made many things more impactful such as DaPeng's death. In the book, it was a random young firefighter from another station that passed away, but making it a character that we know and love in the drama made it more personal. We could feel the weight of the sacrifice firefighters make and how it affects their families and loved ones. That entire arc was so painful and so beautifully done at the same time. I have never watched a firefighter show that was as detailed and comprehensive as this one. They showed us if not all, but almost everything that involves the fire service. The different uniforms, different trucks used depending on the type of rescue, a wider variety of types of rescues, the process from receiving a call to the type of instruction delivered to the station pending the nature of the rescue and so on. I absolutely loved it. I loved everything about this show because it made me think, made me sympathise and empathise with the characters, the characters were flawed, and it made me root for them so hard. The firefighters were just the best. Everyone on the team is a gem and the actors played their roles. The side romances were really cute lo, and I wish we had more of them, but I still like it the way it is.
XQ our princess, our baby girl lol. I hope her and SY have the best future with each other. And for my own peace of mind, I have decided to assume that the study in their beautiful and cozy house will be converted to a room for their child in the near future lol. Can't believe SY did not prepare a kids room when they mentioned kids in earlier episodes and their aunt has been talking about grandbabies. I need to be an aunt pls. Get to work guys.
Anyway, it has been a wonderful couple of weeks on here with you guys. See you in another drama page.
MYC and XQ, I'm so proud of you. Seeing MYC visibly look lighter and more at peace brought tears to my eyes. They both deserve happiness and I'm happy they can be on good terms as a family, with their parents. I love this ending, especially compared to the novel because it is more wholesome and complete.
They looked down on Yezi from minute 1 when she didn’t even do anything (yet)… I don’t agree at all with…
Nobody looked down on her. MYC just saw through her from jump. First she "spilled" his drink, and the look she gave him when she cleaned it up and when she brought another one. Then she "mistakenly" scratched his car in tiny and the way she reacted when he brushed it off and did not give her attention. She constantly put herself in his path and tried her best to get noticed. I read the novel, but because the character that framed him barely appeared and all, I barely remembered her name. It was seeing the way she was acting during their first encounter that made me start piecing together if she was the one. That's how obvious it was. As for Xiao Yixiao, it was her responses to him telling her to not give MYC more alcohol when he was already very drunk that made him suspect her. Also, would MYC have spent that much time with her when he "looked down" on her?
MYC always pulled back and gave curt responses when she was trying to come too close. Then he eventually cut off all contact with her until she went looking for him at the bar. It was obvious he was not attracted to her, but she kept trying. MYC still has some blame because he should not have responded at all. He should not have conversed with her. He tried to be nice and help her, but it was misconstrued. He'll not be doing any such thing again, that's for sure.
to be fair though, most of their interactions were instigated by her.
Yeah. I don't find him creepy either. And yes he's nice. Next time though, he'll keep away from women that want him, and not try to save them. With feelings involved, actions can be miscontrued
XQ and MYC come let me hug you. You've suffered too much and I'm happy you're starting to live for yourselves. MYC, you're too nice because I wanted her to serve time. It's not normal for someone to face rejection and feel humiliated and then go on to publicly accuse the other person of something like rape. It was clear to me that MYC did not have feelings for her. He always distanced himself. But this will teach him, because his actions would be confusing to a girl that is interested in him. Even though he felt lonely, he should not have entertained her that much.
SY is a gem really. For a man to go through all that, the humiliation, the injustice, even when he was trying to make a better future for you both, without blaming you and without it affecting the love he has for you is such a feat. To treat your parents respectfully even, just for you. And I said it before, but it deserves repeating, the Zhais' are too good. Imagine kneeling to beg someone to spare your child and readily accepting that person's child into your family. Others would ask if they do not have pride, but they're just good people. SY did not even need to ask. He only told them he was seeing XQ again and they accepted her, even with their worries. Zhai Maio, you turned out great.
