Title A Good Wife Spoiler
I wanted to comment on this drama but stylishgirl summed up perfectly what I was thinking. Difficult choices for…
She has an emotional affair but not a physical one. I hate to say more because I don’t want to spoil anything. But I’ll tell you whatever you want to know. :)

Kim Go Eun did a great job. Hard to believe this was once sweet little Special Case. The story was relentlessly brutal. Very hard for me to watch.
Is this as epic as the original? Of course not, but it was entertaining. Unlike a lot of movies it did not have any lulls in the action where people just sit around talking and plotting for minutes on end.

Most importantly it featured Michelle Yeoh. She was beautiful and awesome in this. Like Mary Poppins she is practically perfect in every way. And on top of that she can kick ass. I am never unbiased when it comes to her.

Donnie Yen and Harry Shum were delightful as well. :)

I’ve watched it at least twice. And will watch it again.

Title Diamond Lover Spoiler
so glad she ended up with the second lead. they had so much chemistry together while rain's character was just…
The version I watched had her ending up with Rain and I despised that ending. The whole story seemed to lead to her ending up with the SML. I need to find the ending you watched.

I feel like the writers should have sent Jung and Seol to a “how to be in a relationship with a psychopath” workshop. That girl had as many issues as he did to put up with his behavior. The day was coming when he would turn on her as well, he’d already shown he was capable of it.
On Can We Get Married? Oct 19, 2019
This was a difficult one for me to finish. The main couple seemed mismatched, couldn’t get behind them. Hoping Sung Joon gets a better leading role.

Baron Chen was gorgeous in this. Megan Lai was superb playing a guy. That’s about all I’ve got. The story was okay. Never lived up to its potential for me.

Title Boss & Me
Zanilia Zhao was charming in this and the story wasn’t bad but I found the male lead rather wooden and difficult to connect with emotionally. I wanted to like this drama more than I did.

I thought this drama was sweet and funny. Lee Min Jung did a good job of a woman torn between two loves and stuck in a supernatural situation. I would have tweaked the ending but it’s hard to go wrong with Gong Yoo. Always beautiful.

Title Bad Guys
This drama would not be something I’d normally watch but I tried it on Netflix (USA) one evening. With so few episodes I found myself slowing down instead of plowing through them because I didn’t want it to end. I despised the lone female character. And wasn’t crazy about Oh Goo Tak. I was completely drawn in by the three criminals and how their relationships developed. The question of what is justice for victims and their families was intriguing. What does justice and redemption look like for the criminals working on the cases trying to reduce their time and for at least one to seek the truth of his situation?
I thought the three actors playing the criminals nailed their roles. Park Hae Jin was perfect as the psychopath. Jo Dong Hyuk embodied the suave assassin. Park Woong Cheol may not have the same acting chops but did a great job as the hitter.

The test it passed for me is that I’ve gone back and rewatched it, some parts several times. Glad I tried something different. : )

Vanness Wu was mesmerizing in this role. He had to play a variety of emotions and as always came through. Ady An I was less than enamored with, she came across as one note. Her character also made choices that were inexplicable to me. The little boy was adorable and the poor, put upon SML Chris Wu did a good job. The story did pull me and keep me interested. If the FL could have shown a greater spectrum of emotion I would have rated it much higher.

A deeply emotional movie that pulled me in and didn’t let me go.

My apologies if the comment about 65+ giving lower ratings was seemingly ageist. It was meant to be tongue in…
My apologies if I was overly sensitive. I greatly appreciate the work you do and this new facet to the ratings. And I know it doesn’t happen by magic. Thank you also for attending to us gray hairs.:)
Skye-N-Rain Oct 18, 2019
I’m a little concerned about a couple of ageist remarks regarding 65+folks rating dramas lower.

I’m not 65+ but I’m definitely in the barely showing blue bars. I rated Healer lower than the 65ers. Much as Aryael wrote, I base my ratings on story, acting, production values, and how entertaining I found a drama. Certainly, those values have a lot of subjectivity in them.

I may think an actor is stunning but I don’t base my ratings on a pretty face or body. And believe me, I’m not dead yet so I notice when an actor is good looking. And I’m not saying younger viewers let a pretty face influence their ratings. We all come at our preferences and ratings from our own world view.

I’m not speaking for all of us in these older age groups only my opinion and my rating system. I’d guess maybe 10-15% of my ratings are 9 or above.

We older folks have a lot more life experiences and have been roughed up by life more so our perspectives may be a little different than the younger MDLers as far as ratings go. I personally enjoy hearing the younger demographics’ passionate and enthusiastic responses on the feeds and comment sections when I agree and even when I don’t agree.

My guess is there are way more young people on here than older people so it only looks like we are some weird anomaly.

I’m just happy that there is a wide variety of dramas and movies for us to choose from and that it’s okay if we don’t like all the same things or like the same things in all the same way. Please don’t dismiss those of us who rate dramas differently whether it be based on age or personal taste.
