Title Always
A deeply emotional movie that pulled me in and didn’t let me go.

My apologies if the comment about 65+ giving lower ratings was seemingly ageist. It was meant to be tongue in…
My apologies if I was overly sensitive. I greatly appreciate the work you do and this new facet to the ratings. And I know it doesn’t happen by magic. Thank you also for attending to us gray hairs.:)

I’m a little concerned about a couple of ageist remarks regarding 65+folks rating dramas lower.

I’m not 65+ but I’m definitely in the barely showing blue bars. I rated Healer lower than the 65ers. Much as Aryael wrote, I base my ratings on story, acting, production values, and how entertaining I found a drama. Certainly, those values have a lot of subjectivity in them.

I may think an actor is stunning but I don’t base my ratings on a pretty face or body. And believe me, I’m not dead yet so I notice when an actor is good looking. And I’m not saying younger viewers let a pretty face influence their ratings. We all come at our preferences and ratings from our own world view.

I’m not speaking for all of us in these older age groups only my opinion and my rating system. I’d guess maybe 10-15% of my ratings are 9 or above.

We older folks have a lot more life experiences and have been roughed up by life more so our perspectives may be a little different than the younger MDLers as far as ratings go. I personally enjoy hearing the younger demographics’ passionate and enthusiastic responses on the feeds and comment sections when I agree and even when I don’t agree.

My guess is there are way more young people on here than older people so it only looks like we are some weird anomaly.

I’m just happy that there is a wide variety of dramas and movies for us to choose from and that it’s okay if we don’t like all the same things or like the same things in all the same way. Please don’t dismiss those of us who rate dramas differently whether it be based on age or personal taste.

There is everything what I want in a historical drama but I can't seem to connect with the main lead(seo hwi).…
@Tiori I’m with you. I’ve been disappointed in his performance as well.

I enjoyed this quirky drama. Crystal Zhang was amazing and Alan Yu has never been more beautiful. Go wind machine go! One of the few dramas where I was SML all the way.

And the horrible ending..just speechless. Total waste of time!!
I did awhile back when I watched it but didn’t have an account to say thank you for the insight. When someone asked the same question on the feeds I knew who had the answer and wanted to make sure I wasn’t taking credit for it..

@lenje I couldn’t figure out how to attribute this quote to you, I copied and gave you credit in a feed discussion re:the ending. If I stepped over a line I apologize. When explaining the ending I wanted to make sure the person knew I didn’t figure the ending out that you had. Thank you again for explaining the ending.

I hated this! It was so light and lovely and funny, then it got complex because of course - cdrama storyline -…
I loved it for 68 episodes. And then, well, that ending. My question has always been, “what happened to poor Gu Nan Yi?” Did he go where she went?

Person Han Seo Jin
She must be the go to child actress for adorable little girl. I’ve seen her in three dramas and she always does a good job.

Title Silenced
I struggled with how to rate this movie. It took on a very disturbing issue and it sounds like the movie helped push through new legislation. It also called out those who abused children and the system that let it happen. However, I have a problem with some of the scenes of the children being abused. I had to fast forward thorough them and worry that in making the movie some of these children might have suffered. That issue bothered me almost as much as the subject matter. I truly hope there were people in place to protect and watch out for those children.

As someone that's usually a fan of Jang Nara she is unbelievable annoying/off-putting in thisI don't think I can…
I’m 3 episodes into this and really like this drama except for her. She is a beating.

Thank you for this well-needed article. I am neither a vindictive nor a violent person but there are characters that have drawn that out of me. Every time a FL appeared on screen in a popular drama I used to yell at that screen, “would someone please slap that orange lipstick off her face!” Much to the horror of my husband who wondered where his pacifist wife went to. I’ve learned to drop those dramas since then so that I don’t end up spending a few million years in purgatory. Asian dramas have taught me a lot about myself-some of it not so nice.

But he always recovered and looked great by the next scene or the next day.
