Well to reply on your question, while it's tempting to want to point out how the logic of this whole premise is completely flawed in our world, we'll just be wasting our energy to answers that will lead nowhere.
Forget a passport, even getting a student or work ID or any government document just to stay in your own residence legally will be impossible. Such a person would have to do some part-time or illegal online work which pays directly in cash and doesn't check your background or credentials. OR they will have to create their documents illegally. Neighbours would definitely notice how a different person is coming out of the house everyday. This kinda person would definitely be caught and taken to a secret government medical facility to study as a subject.
If they just give it a "Supernatural" tag, then we wouldn't scratch our heads over this. But this is one of those Indie-melo genre movies. Maybe giving it a supernatural tag will have to force them to explain the logic behind it. But that's not what the makers want you to focus on. It's only to focus on the feels and vibes.
This just seemed to be a sequel created to bank on the popularity of the series. After all that drama in the series, I would've accepted this movie if it were a happy ending. My bad. I guess a dark series deserves a dark sequel too. (But this ending felt stupid).
I do not understand people in the comments here complaining about cheating and explaining logic. Are y'all in high school? There is no logic that works when you're in an extreme emotional state! Your animal instincts will kick in long before you realise what's happening. You will not behave the "logical" and "mature" and "ethical" way you think you'll behave if you were in that situation. This whole premise is about the raw messy nature of affairs and how it only leads to a path of destruction to anyone and everyone involved. There's no glorification of cheating happening. It usually never ends happily (as stated by Rikako multiple times). They have portrayed exactly what they wanted to and they did it well (Yes there are flaws in the plot but that's beside the point).
If you're expecting happy endings or some model citizen behaviour from each character so that it'll lead to the ending you desire, then just give a bad rating and move on.
I loved the performance of both leads. From a sentimental POV, it's a really well-made movie. I enjoyed the musical performances and all the outfits. Mochizuki Haruki's acting was brilliant and he looked so stunning and beautiful.
I think I made the mistake of drawing comparisons to The Danish Girl (starring Eddie Redmayne) while watching this movie and focusing on the technical aspects rather than the emotions. Biology is my favourite subject you see. I personally feel off if a movie in the medical genre shows inaccuracies. I had to separately look up if the real Dr. Koji Wada performed "600" surgeries without complications. Turns out, there are not even sufficient records on the number of surgeries he has performed. Dr. Wada's POV in the movie was too vague for me. I understood his backstory a bit so I'll ignore that. Wasn't he trying to find partners to develop silicon based "implants" for improving the outcomes of these surgeries? What exactly happened to that? If he didn't succeed, they could've showed it. What was happening on the legal/police front? They are showing scenes where he is meeting a detective multiple times, but now I'm expected to figure out what happened on my own? It's fun when you like a movie and then you google about the real story after you finish it. But that doesn't mean you leave out most of it. I understand the movie is focused on Haruna Ai. But at the same time, they make it look like Dr. Koji Wada's character is equally important but then given us half-baked scenes and facts.
Also, it felt incorrect that they never showed any post-surgery recovery scenes. That's a very big struggle for a patient to go through. It seemed like showing side effects of estrogen pills was easier so that's all they showed. Like that time when Ai showed her friends how she looked after the first surgery - there was no such scene where she's even looking at herself alone after the 2nd surgery. Feels like it should be a very important scene. Instead, it just went straight to her making love with her boyfriend (that quick jump from surgery to love-making made that scene look painful rather than happy for me). Maybe just showing a time gap or mentioning how many days or months has past inbetween scenes would be helpful.
Overall, it's a good pleasant one-time watch with a happy ending. Not to be watched from a technical POV. 6.3 outta 10
I just realized, the FL never got to actually do the work she was hired (translate for the spokesperson). But sure, focus on playing sports games and company tripsπ€¦π»ββοΈ All those dreams of her wanting to be a newscaster/anchor didn't matter in the end.
I loved the whole buildup of their romance. Felt like an actual office romance that blooms naturally βΊοΈ (P.S. I did not exactly watch this drama. I only watched the scenes that included Jisoo and Seo In Guk's real life character. Keeping the whole virtual dating aside, the show was really nice and cute.)
I already saw the poor ratings and wasn't ever planning on pickup up this show. But after watching clips of their kiss scenes in multiple videos, I decided to just watch it quick on 1.5x speed with 0 expectations and ready to drop at any moment. Surprisingly, I was happy with the plot till episode 6. And even more surprising was that both couple's chemistry was very natural and enjoyable. I could see cracks forming in episode 7 but still very satisfactory. Then, episode 8 onwards, I sensed that the show is about to lose itself and so I just dropped it. After reading all the reviews, I knew I made the right call and saved 4 hours of my time.
But I would definitely like to see both couples again if possible in future shows.
That technique they used to handover the decoupling tools for.....they could've just used that technique to save the remaining passengers π€·π»ββοΈ
Didn't feel like a cliff hanger per say. Just seemed to have kept that ending for fun.
Didn't Qi say he will take the serum to stop his time perception. Also, Mo Yuanzhi's condition only seems to be getting worse. Being mostly blind, it's doubtful he would be able to plot too much. Even with 5 loops, how far out of prison could he possibly get as a convicted murderer?
Does anyone know if there is a season 2? Will there be a season 2. Not a big fan of a cliff hanger ending.

Ofcourse you're right. This hadn't crossed my mind.
Oh well, this list is 5 years old now π I'll let it be as it is
