And I am not saying that Shen Ye should feel anything other than disgust about that bastard's death. I am just saying that most likely his mind should be in a whirlwind of emotions rn. It could be difficult to recover from that shock that quick. It'd atleast take one day to recover lol. But he recovered too quick. To most us his reaction doesn't make sense. But like as you said maybe he already knew that he had lost his dad since Shen Yi started killing people. Again I am not saying you are wrong just putting my own opinion and what I personally feel. I think if you are right, then he probably made up his mind about his "dad" when Shen Yi didn't come to see him after he read that newspaper that Shen Ye published for him and instead started killing people. You have a point but lemme clarify something I didn't mean that Shen Yi raised him "lovingly" I meant to say that in Shen Ye's eyes he would think that Shen Yi had raised him lovingly up till recently. And that's where the conflicting thoughts come into play. One side of him will be like, he is my father afterall he raised me so well but then the other side will be like no he is a manipulator and serial killer. Generally a lot of emotions. That's what I am saying. That's typically what goes through an abuse victims mind. But then again every abuse victims is different so maybe you are right

I do get what you are saying and I respect it but still it feels too much of a jump especially considering the fact that "father" up until recently was a really good dad and raised him quite well. Shen Ye wasn't turned into a criminal. He became a police man with morals. He had a loving father up until recently when he went a bit psycho when he realised Shen Ye might be lost from him. So considering all this even if he doesn't feel terribly sad he atleast will feel some amount of conflicting emotions. Which is just... Absent. Another factor can, that he is in shock but if he was then he couldn't be able to function as well as he is doing. Throwing my two cents here. Just my opinion but your theory might be true as well. Maybe he is just dealing with the grief differently who knows

Unfortunately you are right :((( in Asian dramas parents usually avoid responsibility for their abuse. It's so upsetting tbh I wonder when this "culture" will change. Hope with our generation it can change but sighhh. The lack of emotions was just poor writing heh. The actors all are very capable they were just held back because of the lazy writing by the script writers
