There is no love sincerer than the love of gay meals. All sorrows are less with them. When the preferable (the gay) is not available, the available (the gay-ish, straight-as-a-circle) becomes preferable

Humans and zombies alike are contaminated by hunger, which the zombies carry to its conclusion. That's the message zombie stories send us, intentionally or unintentionally

Deserted metropolitan streets have the power to shock a population jaded to traditional zombies. Are you the opposite?

May I recommend Kingdom and Rampant? They take place in a medieval-inspired Korea

In reality, zombies don't exist to be "contained." In fiction, zombies are everywhere. They are shambling hordes moving in the pace of the post-industrial society. Zombie stories spread like a transmittable synecdoche; a pandemic of epic proportions. No police or military can contain the corpses endowed by sorcery with a mechanical semblance of human hunger

Their roots come from the recognition of the human in the monster and the monster in the human. The humans wonder which way the outbreak travels, from the ground up or the other way around? And who infects whom? The implication is that the "sins" of humanity, their greed, gluttony and envy, have driven them and their corpses to an eternal unrest

"People in their right mind, no matter how much they suffered, wouldn't blame other people"

You only blame the "criminals." Are you in your right mind, Ms. Officer?

Childhood maltreatment is strongly associated with mental health disorders, delinquency and "criminal" behaviors. You would be out of your mind not to blame their toxic families for how they turned out

"[X] and [Y] didn't turn out that way"

Not everyone responds to maltreatment the same way, Mr. Officer

He would break the internet

Bingo! As an English literature and translation major, I've read so many masterly pieces of philosophical disputations and literary works that I developed comprehensive written and spoken communication skills

I couldn't possibly be better than an English professor, though!

"... it feels more like a k-drama than a bl"

What's the difference? Nudity? BLs are more a sensibility than a genre. Marked by a stylistic, tonal element that articulates the experiences of gay couples, their sexual themes are justifiable on aesthetic grounds

Korean BL dramas, the collision of old (Korean dramas) and new (BLs), are hybridized products distinct, but familiar to Korean audiences. They achieve more visibility when palatable and conducive to the logics of the chaste Asian culture

A Korean BL drama infused with chastity and long-running episodic seasons would be a BL adapted to fit local circumstances, satisfying audiences in its conformity to Asian expectations and subversion of anti-gay ideologies

I regard, therefore, as inconsistent and misleading the line drawn between "Korean drama" and "BL," don't you agree?

"I take issue with humanity's inability, in general, to deal with a natural part of our existence"

Naturalistic fallacy

It's not legitimate to draw a moral conclusion of a prescriptive nature from factual premises only, insofar as these statements are of a different nature

The careless passing from "is" (it's natural or unnatural) to "ought" (it ought to be done) gnaws at me. Though sexuality is natural, it's not "moral" or "immoral" to be a prude shocked by matters relating to sexuality or nudity. Even if it were, wouldn't it be more immoral for you to be inconsiderate of the feelings of the prudish people uncomfortable with NSFW content?

"... sexuality and physical intimacy no matter the orientation"

NSFW "straight" content is everywhere, much to my dismay. Even thriller Korean dramas, Connect and The Glory, profited from them. It's NSFW gay content that society shies away from. No equivalence can be drawn between the two

Allow me to lay my cards on the table; it's NSFW "straight" content I discard as useless and unwanted. Not NSFW gay content

"I get there are people who feel they are owed, the people that are into fan service, most likely. I hate fan service, it's so exploitative"

Fanservice is a smart marketing strategy. People want to see their favorite celebrities together. The celebrities agree to act like they are together to excite or titillate their fans. They earn money. And our ships sail. It's a win-win, and not any more "exploitative" than acting as a whole
