You don't need to apologise. It's hard balancing general life, finding time to research dramas, watch them, and then freeing up even more time to comment on shows and the actors involved in a meaningful way. Lol.

LIRD had some absolutely insane reuters. Xingyue was exuding power in them. I kind of need this fix after he spent a good deal of TWD in bed feeling sorry for himself. Even though there is a comedy component to LIRD, that bravado and strength should still shine through. I quite like XRH, and she can certainly do her part selling a romance. We know Cdrama likes to force it into shows, so if they are going to do it, then do it right. Ruohan should help Xingyue deliver the CP vibe that people said was lacking in TWD. Particularly if the LIRD reuters are anything to go by.

I feel when creative industries move towards mass production you tend to get into this predicament. Truly original ideas become rare commodities. Most projects tend to fall somewhere between two positions. Good productions with original takes / spins on proven ideas, and formulaic tick-box productions that are either average or poor.

Tbf, I enjoy Cdrama and I find most things that I consume to be highly watchable. Most shows aren't necessarily great, but very watchable. You can't ask for much more than that. Hollywood used to do this well. Highly watchable films with a few masterpieces mixed in. Now, there's a neverending supply of trash with the odd rare gem emerging. The problem is, once you lose the watchability it makes it difficult to hang around waiting for those gems.

Yes, Beloved was fantastic. Crime Cdramas give such a great return in terms of quality. Outstanding stories and the acting is usually top shelf. Even if MDL doesn't seem to appreciate them.

Update on Perfect Match. After being stuck on episode four for over a month. I finally kickstarted it again and ended up blasting my way through to episode twenty-one. It's safe to say I'm going to finish it. After a slow start, it actually became quite enjoyable. A spin on the mystery solving concept, in Perfect Match they overcome life obstacles instead. There's some silly stuff, but it's part comedy, so that is to be expected.

Because if you think CY dramas are often slow to be released. Hongyi dramas are on another level again. Combine the two and you'll be waiting for eternity.

I'm confident he'll hold his own and won't be overshadowed. He was actually the match of the outstanding senior performers in TWD. Not the best drama, but the performance is top shelf.

Episode 19 was so GOOD. It had a bit of everything. Great acting from our leads, and the supporting cast, too. I'm also intrigued by YCE's character and what direction he will take.

I loved her in MJTY. However, his performance could potentially be my favourite from LYX. I'll have to wait and see. Can they stick the landing and finish strongly? So far, so good.

That drama will sit in the vault for a 1000 years.

I quite like an OS. We get to go on a journey together, and nobody has any idea how things will turn out.

It's solid. I didn't enjoy it as much as TBOY, but it's still a pretty decent stand-alone drama. The ending is a little mixed. Some sadness, but overall happy.

No, I haven't seen BTU. It looks right up my alley. I've added it to my WL. As I mentioned in the comment above, I enjoy both long-form and short-form crime dramas as they tend to focus on slightly different things with some overlap.

I added TF as well. WJY is such a superb actress. I see Huang Jue has a main role, too. He stole the show for me in LOZH. Marquis Ping Jin is one of my favourite villains in Cdrama. An absolute warrior of a character.

Yes, Tian Tian was first choice. That's why it wasn't really surprising that Ai Mi was second. The creative team were clearly looking for someone in this age bracket. Julia Xiang was also rumored alongside DLW.

Thanks. We will have to wait and see. There are advantages to both. Longer crime dramas give you time to delve into the psychological elements of the criminal mind, and those that pursue them. You can also explore the toll on the victims, their families, and wider society as a whole. While shorter dramas are incentivised to have an intense focus on crime solving, the cat and mouse / pursuit aspect of an investigation. Either way, I'm ecstatic with this role choice. It's a well deserved opportunity for him (WXY).
