Now, i just realized Jongbum character is literally absent for 3 episode ?! Idk if they make them as the same…
That what confuses me the most! How come this "combined" version is nothing like JC in the past? Did he suddenly forget all his trauma and became a mastermind? The hell? The character work is truly terrible in this drama... I can't even
You know who I feel the most sorry for? Sabin's dad. He had to participate in the execution and couldn't take it, so for his whole life he was hunted by the image of a person he "killed". And now his daughter is "dating" that person? Damn, I'd hate to be in his skin.
This Drama Should Name "Born Again Chun Jong Bum To Suffer More "Just Finger Crossed And Hope Chun Jong Bum Has…
I'd say it's more "Born Again not to redeemed himself but to become even worse which doesn't matter cuz FL is stupid now and she's gonna treat you like a misbehaved child instead of a criminal you are" Just fingers crossed and hope JB takes responsibility for his actions and actually gets punished for it, not just slapped at the back :)
THANK YOU for this! Seriously the way the fandom is treating soo hyuk like some sort of angel.. ummm he shot a…
I guess I've been reading different comments. Yes, there're some who only care for their ship so I don't pay much attention to it. The ones I do, mostly judge JB's actions not based on his mental state, but on his actions.
Okay, hear me out guys. I absolutely LOVE Jong Bum's character. I think he is very complex and interesting as…
I completely agree with you! I mean, mostly? Kinda? To call any of them a "complex character" would require a good character work on writers part and I don't believe she did a good job there. Like, AT ALL. The script is all over the place. The pacing, the plot - what even is the plot at this point? It's like she had all these ideas but didn't know how to tie everything together, so in the end, we got this masterpiece. But the way to describe the characters (with what we have of them) is ON POINT!
Cross posted from tumblr: So for a while now I've been seeing a lot of hate for the show Born Again and I've failed…
It's actually impressive how in your comment Sa Bin's motivations are clearer then in a drama itself. Which is big a problem from writing perspective. If they really intended to show what you are saying - they failed. There were too many decision made NOT in favour of the whole ordeal viewed as something positive. 1) we have professor - student dynamic that crosser WAY over the line. 2) it's never really clearly established WHY she dismisses all his abusive behaviours with a pat on a back, like she's scolding a misbehaved child - and we're talking about stalking, stealing and attempted murders (there's more, but as I remember that's all Sa Bin really knows) 3) and most importantly, it's NOT her job to "save him". She has no qualification for that whatsoever.
Am I the only one that see that Jung Sa Bin was REALLY uncomfortable in that kiss with Chun Jong Bum? I mean her…
That's actually a great example of sexual assault. (noted, it's the second time that happens, first one even worse because she was unconscious and completely defenceless). Even if she didn't push him away, she still didn't consent to the kiss. That's assault.
I'm really sick and tired of seeing dramas romanticizing such behaviours to this day. Seems like #MeToo movement didn't reach the Korean entertainment industry.
Absolutely agree with you. I found this drama so interesting and addictive. I'm invested in JB/JC and Sabin from…
wait, are you seriously suggesting HE decided to marry HB because he held her hand ONCE? Not because she's been dating him for years? lol, I'm sorry, but I find that part quite funny.
THANK YOU for this! Seriously the way the fandom is treating soo hyuk like some sort of angel.. ummm he shot a…
Actually we've been saying that JC/JB needs psychological help and NOT love from the very beginning. At this point, we're just mad by how the drama portrays him as and this "misunderstood hero" instead of acknowledging his abusive behaviours (stalking (both), attempted murders (JB), sexual assault (JB), an actual murder (JC) and a "prison break" (JC)). The fact that his mental state affected his behaviour doesn't make it right. It just defines the form of punishment.
So for people here, even after knowing that JB is not a killer and even JC is not serial one (he killed that evil…
So it's okay to stalk people and attempt multiple murders as long as you don't actually kill anyone? Also it's justifiable to kill a woman just because she's evil? Okay, good to know. My definition of innocence was all wrong, damn.
Heathcliff: Victim Or Villain?Heathcliff, the protagonist of Wuthering Heights, is well-known as a romantic hero,…
Heathcliff is both a victim AND a villain (shocker, I know) That's the whole tragedy - driven by revenge he became the person he hated the most (if not worse).
Sabin was kissed my someone without her consent. Why would she like it?
He had to participate in the execution and couldn't take it, so for his whole life he was hunted by the image of a person he "killed". And now his daughter is "dating" that person? Damn, I'd hate to be in his skin.

I still have to watch eps 12-13 (not just skim it) and I just can't force myself.

"I stabbed you to death and you put a bullet in my brain - let's be BFFs"
That's the whole tragedy - driven by revenge he became the person he hated the most (if not worse).
