I've been reading through the comments, and everyone seems to have good things to say about this.
So why is it only an 8.0? Is there something I'm missing?

It might be one of the most underrated c-dramas I know. Like, hello? Why is this a 8.4?
It deserves to be at least an 8.6 - 8.8 rating.

Enemies to lovers? Check.
Lots of kisses and sweet moments? Yup!
Engaging plot and strong female lead? Definitely.
Phenomenal actors? 100%
Happy ending? YES!!

Ngl, this comment made me hesitate to watch this.
I also watch these dramas mainly for the romance, so hearing that there was very little affection between the leads made me think I probably wouldn't enjoy it.
What can I say, I'm a romantic at heart 😭🤷‍♀️

I remember picking this up when it was first airing and eventually forgot about it.
It was such a dark setting--which is so refreshing and different.

Oh my gosh, your comment about what others say that this FL isn't beautiful enough sounds so dumb and unnecessary. If anything, she suits her role perfectly; she has a certain air of seriousness about her.
I've watched 'Falling Into Your Smile,' and I don't think it was for me. Don't get me wrong, the chemistry is there, but I don't particularly like video games--not to mention dramas centered on that topic. 🤷‍♀️ To each their own.

It's frustrating that some reviewers only praise popular dramas like Goblin and The Untamed.
I understand they are great—I watched them myself—but we shouldn't overlook all the amazing shows out there!
I agree with you about the ratings. "Ancient Love Poetry" seems to be a really well-made production, and although I haven’t finished it yet, I’m willing to bet that I will give it a high rating once I do complete it.
