Ep. 6 was the worst yet IMO. This series now has me questioning if I was too harsh on MGB. GMMTV + vampires is proving to be a bad fit. Pretty sure Dante's Cove/The Lair did vampire storytelling better than these series ðŸ˜
I loved this overall but things got repetitive quickly and the story inevitably hit a wall and started to fall apart somewhere along the midway point. What I didn't love was the last episode which felt so rushed, especially given the events of the episode(s) prior. In a way it didn't even feel finished.
I thought i was the only one who took issue with NP’s acting. Feel like even the side characters are out-acting…

I haven't read everything you wrote yet but I just wanted to reply to clarify the first part - by promoted as leads I'm talking about the trailer that very specifically made note of the series having duel leads and duel cps. And then referring to them as 'Desire 4' tied into that to a lesser extent as it maybe implies the four were on an even playing field but that's a minor thing. The four appearing as a group for promo is not what I meant and not indicative of anything. They could've done the same promo and not been referred to as duel leads/duel cps at the start and that would've been more honest, no?

I don't know as I haven't read the novel and you're speaking as someone who's clearly read the novel and knows better than me.
Your account makes it sound like they were only ever secondary characters in the novel and didn't evolve until much later which was my general understanding, however they were promoted and touted in the trailer as duel leads/cps and then went on to promo as such so could one not reasonably think their original story was perhaps altered for live adaptation purposes? It's been done before. Maybe that was the working assumption for many non-readers upon seeing the trailer.
I get what you're saying as it relates to the source material but I don't think non-reader fans of the second couple are in the wrong to have expected a little more either since as I mentioned they were billed as co-main leads and have been alluded as such since the trailer dropped. Only readers would've known otherwise.
I mean it's the authors themselves making this --- they're trying to get every line on the book on the screen
I know and in an ideal situation that's obviously what you'd want as authors but the episode cap alone put a limit on what they could and would be able to do story wise.
I think the brother had too much screen-time leading up to today's episode. I understand it was meant to build up to today's moment but I just don't think it was necessary to see him and his goons strategizing for the investable impact to be felt. And I know it probably wouldn't amount to much additional time but those were onscreen minutes that might've benefitted the other couple's screen-time.
HY's call with his cousin felt like pointless filler too. Thinking back there was quite a bit of what felt like filler to me early on. Can't really blame the authors too much though because adapting a story for screen is no easy feat and it was their first time.

The second kiss was better than the first. They seemed to be more on the same page then. Something is still off putting and awkward about them though. As in their interactions still don't feel natural. Honestly I think the Peem actor is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for the both of them. With him I can somewhat believe in the Peem character's love for Khem, despite the overall lack of buildup leading into this moment, (and he sold me on the repressed bit in the episode prior), whereas the Khem character is still unlikable and one-note, which I now think is the crux of their chemistry issue. Khem wears the same expressionless expression 99.9% of the time and though that expression changed a bit in the end scene it wasn't much of a difference. When Peem told Khem he liked/cared about him before the first kiss Khem's face had no expression. It's really difficult to buy a romance on his side when he comes across as indifferent. Like the master declared his love and his face in response was unchanged. With that said, I think the issue is the Khem actor coupled with the Khem character just being blah and a non-existent buildup for this love of theirs.
In a way they're coming together (pun not intended lol) at the end felt like different characters which I think speaks to the dullness of their characters and poorly executed foundation for this coupling.

2gether is just a cute series to me. I like it a lot for what it is (and what it isn't) but I critique and rate series like that in a completely different way and would never equate or compare them with a plot driven series like this.
You say it's understandable for someone to dislike someone's acting but clearly you know not what that word means since you're attacking people for saying as much but more importantly it's really not a matter of dislike at all. I don't dislike his acting, I think he is not a very good actor at this point in his career and/or in this particular role. Very different things. You're making it into a matter of dislike by twisting my opinion of his acting into me disliking him. I know nothing about him to dislike him. I haven't even said anything about his looks! If anything I've said the least offensive thing there is to say about an actor because he could always improve on his acting and may even be better in a different role. I would even watch him in something else in the future to see if there's improvement. There are plenty of actors I actually do dislike for reasons that have little if anything to do with their acting skills (99% being decent actors) and I simply do not watch their series. And I most definitely do not venture into the comment sections of those series just to hate on those actors I dislike for sport. If I'm not watching a series then what business do I have to be commenting there? None!

I'm having deja vu here because this comment section is beginning to look a lot like the comment section for TNP as it was airing. And I'm sure I don't need to tell you how that mess turned out but in case you weren't around those comment sections were far more active than this one. Today you'll find it's pretty much become a deserted island where only the superfans reside and chime in every few comments. Those superfans who attacked every "hater" and advised them to get lost got their wish.
But also WHO CARES. Let people think what they want. Isn't the goal to keep people talking about the series? Good or bad? Even if I believed 2gether was a 10 star series (I don't and it's not lol) I wouldn't care if all the comments said Win or Bright were bad actors with zero chemistry. That would be their view of the series and everyone is entitled to their own good or bad takes.
Now I need to get back to watching today's episode lol
