I thought i was the only one who took issue with NP’s acting. Feel like even the side characters are out-acting…
Yeah, the others are acting circles around him. I don't know if it's intentional or not but whatever the case it's a one-note performance and quite distracting.
Btw all the fake hate your seeing for this show and peemkhem come from the main cp fans of the previous high budget…
I think the word "all" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. I like the couple/actors in that other series you speak of that most definitely was GARBAGE, but this series has its own set of issues so most of the criticisms I'm seeing (and have myself) of it feel warranted and unrelated to fan wars.
Also, this is pretty much verbatim of what their super fans would say to downplay and negate criticisms of that other series while it was airing - and as we now know, the bulk of the criticisms they fought hard to detract proved legit so...
Maybe the CP fans on both sides should join forces and direct their blame on the common denominator in this Domundi equation instead of one another? Because let's be real, if the two leads of this series had been the leads of that garbage series and vice versa both sets of CP fans would still be saying the exact same thing in defense of these two boring series.
It's really no wonder there's been a plague of awful Thai series because at this point ALL of these companies know their market and their market is telling them they don't need to prioritize cohesive storytelling or even care if their actors can act and/or are being cast in the right roles as long as their choice CP is front and center.
No couple from domundi has the chemistry like Khem and Peem. I will definitely conclude that you only like nc…
I hear ya. For me it's easier to tolerate and even excuse a series like Cutie Pie because they're more fluff than not and don't claim to be anything more than that so I can usually enjoy them for what they are. Series like this though I take more seriously and expect more from. And after the mess that was TNP I was really hoping this wouldn't turn out to be yet another snooze fest. It was slow to start and still boring but I don't feel like I was duped by the pilot or trailer in the way I was with TNP so it's got that going for it lol
After the last episode I agree about the actor playing Khem. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because the character is insufferable and the actor may have been guided to play him a certain way but I'm beginning to think that's not the issue, which could also explain the lack of chemistry with the other lead who's acting is more convincing.
The biggest problem with GMMTV nowadays is mediocre directors and bad screenwriters; a mediocre actor is easier…
They are spreading themselves too thin. These companies need to invest in having more directors and writers on their rosters if they want to keep producing series around the clock.

This. Directors and screenwriters have their hands in too many projects. Rarely ever is their focus on one at a time, from start to finish without interruption. It's no wonder so many of these series end up with as many continuity errors and underdeveloped plots and characters as they do. It's not just GMMMTV either. At this point these companies are competing with each other to see which one can pump out the most hot messes - using the same 1-3 directors - in a fiscal period.
Ep 2 and 3 - How in the world did we wait this long for this series, and yet the fight scenes are SO BADLY CHOREOGRAPHED???…
Feels like only one of them is checked in. This is a downside of fixed pairs unfortunately. Both need to feel connected to the story and the characters they're portraying in order for that chemistry to come through. At the same time they're also expected (and often want, of course) to take on work together but if say one wanted to do a project more than the other then compromises will likely be made. Could be the case here and if so may explain what's translating onscreen.
💀
You said opinion in your reply so I assumed that meant the boring remark as the novel reference would be considered secondhand info - not an opinion.
I understand now though that you meant you had never seen or heard that about novel version Khem before.
