You literally answered your own complaint. If it’s a sensory overload thing for you, then it’s your personal…
The series isn’t for me and I knew that going in but I’m watching it anyway because I like the actors. I acknowledged the theme myself so obviously I do get its intent and correlation to the story and characters. The use of primary colors makes total and complete sense to me for this series given what it’s about.
Sensory overload or not, I just feel like they overdosed on the color palette to the point of being borderline obnoxious. That said, I don’t know that my personal gripe about this necessitated an “answer” of any kind. I was just making commentary as I was watching. I wasn’t attacking the series. As I said, it’s personally not my kind of series but by no means do I think it’s a bad series. Just not my trope and evidently not my color scheme lol
Is there anyone who used to like straight dramas so much but one day discovered a BL series then the rest is history…
Yes! One minute I was finishing up my usual K drama business and the next thing I knew iQ was autoplaying KinnPorsche. Had no idea what I was watching and was a bit taken aback once it was fully realized but by that point I was too enamored with the plot, cinematography, characters, etc to care. Didn’t even know what a “BL” series was 😭 iQ and their autoplay nonsense (which I have set to OFF btw) got me again sometime after that with Naughty Babe or TharnType. So now I watch all the dramas!
I’m sorry but the overabundance of primary colors is driving me mad. I can appreciate what they were going for and totally get the association of such colors with that of them being teachers but it’s just amplifying the juvenile weirdness of the plot for me. Not trying to be unsympathetic to those who suffer from age regression, it’s just at the end of the day is this not a romance story? I don’t want to be reminded of children at very turn in a romance where age regression is already a thing! Like even before the regression bit their home was giving kindergarten energy! I know they’re teachers but come on!
eta: maybe it’s just a sensory overload thing for me
I’m all for unrequited romances but the younger guy here is immature to the point of being unlikeable. He’s got me rooting for the older step bro and his girlfriend.
Help me out ya’ll… is this safe to watch in public? Lmao I need a new drama to watch when I’m on the treadmill at the gym and the last time I went in blind on a series during a workout it was My Stubborn and I almost had to switch gyms 😭
I hate how people are blaming joongdunk for the poor writing, how is it their fault? also I think the only reason…
It’s sad though because Dunk was so good in The Heart Killers. This series was an unfortunate step back in all regards but maybe most notably for Dunk because his character is so bland it’s coming across as a lifeless performance. THK at least shined a light on his range and potential as an actor but this role is giving him nothing and doing nothing for him. Joong’s character isn’t much better but I think fans are less critical because he’s pretty much playing himself lol

It’s not their fault. The pilot trailer was promising so I can’t even fault them for choosing a mediocre project because honestly who could’ve known at that point? It’s not like these actors are privy to scripts beyond the pilot trailer since those are written way after the fact, so they are essentially pitched the same thing we are before they sign-on. But yeah, it was bad writing (coupled with some other things) that plagued this series and ultimately failed to deliver. Actors can only do so much with the material they’re given. Also, scripts can sometimes sound better on paper and a bad script can make even the best of actors look like amateurs, especially if those actors aren’t able to connect with the characters and/or story. Which again, with bland characters like these and a directionless story who could blame them for not connecting? Not me!
they did even explain how he is alive ? or it's like a 'what if' special (not real)
It’s an alternate timeline where he didn’t die. So a “what could’ve been” situation. The execution is lame though and didn’t make much sense. But yeah, it doesn’t add anything to the main story where he’s still dead. It did the main pair no favors either as they came across very juvenile.
