Apparently it wasn't Saras who got murdered but was the one who went to jail?
honestly I’m not sure any more at this point too. I don’t quite remember all their names. But it did feel like most if not all of them got away with a slap on the wrist
it stayed true to the slow burn tone the drama built up from the start quiet, emotional, and rooted in personal…
It could be that way. And I'm ok with being an outlier on this. But especially when she was being brave and telling ML that no matter what happens she won't run away agin, and they would face it all together. It felt like all of the work to show her being more confident was just suddenly undone. And yes the ML still being ok accepting her back instantly shows him putting patience over pride. But it just left a bad taste in my mouth. To me she consistently chose to fight her battles alone. If there is ever another problem in the future, he can't trust her to not run away again. And that's the issue I have with it
Honestly everything is great untl the ending. It delivers on the slow burn you expect going in. Handles reconciliation kinda mediocre. The ML was just a simp which is fine cause he was in love with her. I just think the ending was quite a disservice to the character development the FL went through for the entire show. Like they just turned around and kumbaya everything is ok at the end. Dramas don't have to be realistic, but inconsitency does break the illusions.
Maybe I got a justice boner or some shit I don't know. But the fact that non of them got jail time for killing Saras is wild. And the fact that they all kill in cold blood without even batting an eye is crazy. I know humans are capable of anything, but damn.
The ML is messy too though, he force kisses the FL twice but not many people hate on him for it. I feel like they're…
see I get that. Not to say 2 wrongs make a right, but she also force kissed him first on the train. They both assaulted eachother at different times in the show. They are both problematic, but I won't go as far as equally problematic. But regardless you don't judge who is more or less problematic when it comes to emotions and feelings. Both of them could have stopped whenever they wanted. But they didn't and that's all that matters.
I loved it all in all. But I can't help but feel like the fl got away with being a bad partner. The ML litterally…
That's very true, well said. And you just reminded me of the FL's friend lmao. I lowkey feel bad for people who have friends like her. She seems like she's genuinely trying to help, but damn all she does is gaslight and make it seem like FL can do no wrong. Sometimes you need friends that can sit you down and tell you that you messed up.
In the middle of watching this, more like towards the end lol (~ep22-23) The B plot revolves around the FL and…
Ok after finishing the show now lol I see why people hated the ending. Not sure if this is controversial or not, but I think FL was right in breaking up with him. After the dinner which she clearly wasn't welcomed, he never followed her outside, or even called her at all for a while, and suddenly shows up after? yeah I'd be done too. And yeah I know his dad was sick, but no way you can't spare a moment to call ur clearly angry girlfriend whilst ur dad is in the hospital.
All of that aside tho, the ending truly is dumb. It's not open-ended as some people think, it's clearly pointing to them getting back together. What I don't like is they nvr showed the ML fighting for the FL. The writer opted to potray that information through the 2FL??? That was such a dumb decision, and is part of why it feels like the ending wasn't earned. The just shoehorned whatever ending they wanted into the show, even when it naratively made no sense.
All in all a solid 7/10. Could have been a 7.5 if the ending was better. A good way to pass time tho
Until episode 15/31 this show was ok.It seemed that the screenwriter would be different, would be smart, but that…
For argument sake, it wasn't a matter of not man enough to tell his dad he has a gf, he was doing it so his family doesn't go bankrupt. Still dumb, but the solution is ok. It's not horrible but not great
In the middle of watching this, more like towards the end lol (~ep22-23) The B plot revolves around the FL and her team confronting a guy that ghosted the coworker. Unless I missed a context point, or it's just a culture thing. Doesn't it seem like they took it too far? like yes at the end it turned out the dude was cheating on his wife. But they went in not knowing that. All he did was ghost her, and when confronted, said he wasn't interested in her. They kept pushing for more, and he finally let our his mysogynistic views (obviosly bad), but again they pushed him for this information. Then when he's leaving the FL took a pic of his license plate to figure out more info on him. It all just seems extra for the sake of being extra, and him being a scumbag to justify the dumb almost shitty actions.
Again I could have missed something, and If I did, someone correct me, or it could be a culture thing. But yeah it seemed like they went to far after someone was simply ghosted.

I had a similar with someone else in this comments about how I felt about that. I'm glad to see a lot of people feel the same that as long as the ML is fine with it and forgave her, it's all good (closure achieved). It just left a sour taste in my mouth. It felt like the FL was upfront and straightfoward the entire drama, until when it mattered most. But then again, people respond to problems differently I guess.
yes! I love watching Bai Lu but her character in this show is just cringey, it’s difficult for me to keep watching
I'm someone who also didn't like her character as you can see in the thread above, but I still enjoyed the show. I stay stick to it. The good far outweighs the bad
One thing I love about this drama is its realistic depiction of love. When somebody falls truly in love, it's…
That's perfectly fair, great example you brought up. I hope I can get to that level of maturity, or love someone so much I'm willing to continue to sacrifice for my love for them. It is great to see it can work for people. I guess I just have to admit I'm not there yet on my journey to self maturity. Great points tho, love this back and forth

Oh i 100 percent agree that's what happens when ur in love. And I can see the friends point of view. I also accept that the fl needed to grow and change slowly, that it won't be over night. I guess this is where it just comes to personal boundaries and preference. If Shi Yan only gave her one chance to be upfront, or put their relationship first, I would say ok one mistake. I justs feel like PERSONALLY, if I or anyone I know was in Shi Yan's position where you give the girl chance after chance to pick you, at a certain point you just walk away. They got back together, so it could be something she/they(as a couple) could work on in therapy, but I personally would not be waiting on someone who couldn't be brave enough to put me first when I'm extending an olive branch after they did me wrong. Remember someone even spoke to her about how she only cared about work and she was being a bad partner. She admitted it, accepted it, and still did nothing (I don't remember what episode it was I would reference it). And let's not even get started on all the "date" like activities she went on with the other dude. No one is perfect and I get that, but if I was to insert myself or someone I love into the shoes of Shi Yan here, I don't think accepting Shu Yi back with open arms is the right decision. Then again there's no right or wrong in love. Someone is gonna be the one constantly giving, and such is life
uhh it's a nice enough of a show, good balance of cliche and new spins. But I feel like for the sake of "character types", the FL got away with being a douchebag. If my friend was the ML, I would be telling him to break up with the FL lead. Red flags for real. I don't understand why the people around him where still trying to take her side and get him to talk to her. Gave her chance after chance, and she still wouldn't put him or their relationship first. Wild stuff
I am so glad I decided to make up my own mind about this drama. The chemistry, back and forth and tension between…
I loved it all in all. But I can't help but feel like the fl got away with being a bad partner. The ML litterally gave her chance after chance to clear things up, but all she wanted to talk about was work. The ML let her walk all over him, but I guess that's what happens when ur head over heals for someone.
Ok the show is good, starts of shaky, get's really good, and then get's shaky in the middle again. Some of the…
And for people wondering what the ending was, she ends up with the ml. Makes no sense off the bat, but if you watch the show, it took it's time to make us ok with the fact that the two leads might not end up together, and that was ok. She was with someone that really loved her, And the final scene liu qi was in was the bow on top to show how much he cared for her. But then there's a time skip and she's with the ML again. It made absolutely no sense.
Ok the show is good, starts of shaky, get's really good, and then get's shaky in the middle again. Some of the character arcs make no sense. Then the eding starts of soooo good. And then absolutely garbage. It's a proper rollercoaster lmaoo. give it a 6/10. Cause that ending was actually horrible.
