Both Xie Zheng and Qi Min have suffered due to Wei Yan, he was the one responsible for their families death. Wei Xuan is Wei Yan's son. ML's cousin. He that rude bratty guy who imprisoned He Jingyuan in today's episode.
The same guy who is trying to control the army, and ML tells his subordinates that he is dumb and is bound to loose.

Episode 15 is chapter 50 of the novel. But yes there are 164 chapters, so we almost one third.
I understand there is a lot to show still, you are correct, but I am glad they did not cut off romance part for it, like we saw their entire falling in love and supporting each other, so maybe they can just cut off some palace politics and war, except the major ones.

Its chapter 50. Yes everything is similar, just I think Li Huai An, Wei Xuan characters are really different. Like they are not supposed to be here. But the plot and subplots remain same.

Prince Changxin is a kind of a warlord, not in support of the current regime. Its possible he was a step brother or something of the previous king, like he might have royal blood, hence prince.
He has two children, elder one being Sui something, I am sorry I forgot, but its basically Qi Min. Qi Min is not his son though, Changxin doesn't know that, he was swapped later.
His second child is Sui Yuanqing, this is his real son. The elder real son is dead, no one knows that, they think its Qi Min.
Prince Changxin and his group are trying to make the common people against the ruling regime, they want to create chaos.
Sui Yuanqing is the guy who attacks FL.
Grain collection is due to army provisions being less. Wei Yuan suggests king to collect grain, that is why his son Wei Xuan is there to collect it. Grand tutor Lei is against it thinking people cannot pay more grain tax. His grandson Li Huai An and his master He Jingyuan who is also the prefect of the town think the same, that its burdensome on the common people.

Qi Min had earlier bought a lot of grain from the common people, and then hidden it on the orders or plan of his so called father. But he has agreed to give that grain to ML if ML joins him in his plan.
The people killed in today's episode, the entire thing was orchestrated by the Sui family, but people felt that it was done by Wei Xuan or the palace.
This is not a war, just a chaos, ML just wants peace there.

Their separations are not caused by misunderstanding. Their separations are caused by truth being revealed, things getting clearer. But their separations are not for a very long time, also very vital for the plot so yeah.

There will be a separation. In the novel, there is more than one separation, we have to deal with it.

She doesn't die don't worry. She is just kidnapped, she will be saved by her Marquis brother in law.

Marquis used to fight men in the border, deal with palace politics. Now being a matrilocal husband, he is enjoying New Year by finding kids who always go missing, snow fighting with wife and wife's bff, enjoying mutton dumplings, even getting New Year Money. His life is sorted, and here you all want him to go back to that pathetic life. No wonder he doesn't want to leave. Poor baby!

In the end of the novel, Qian Qian told FL that she comes from a very far away place, some place where she can never return. This along with her behaviour in various scenes, made novel readers doubt that.
I will give an example- the fact that she told FL to use symbols like each shop had a symbol, its like branding in today's days. Plus she was able to do make such a big business while being a single mother, in just 6 years.
But it was not explicitly said in the novel, only hints.

Hehe! Same, we all were having so much fun discussing characters, changes, spoilers. Huhh! Its okay, we will ignore them and concentrate on the drama like before, and have fun.

Yeah I saw Li Huai An fighting. Surprisingly, in the novel he was a scholar, was never introduced this early. So there are changes. Its okay, just keep the leads scenes same, so that would work.

Qi Min is a rice merchant from the capital, a little creepy, seems to be obsessed with FL's bff.
