Did anyone notice that Joo Ran was acting entitled to Ji Won's work?Didn't expect that from her smh
She's as bad as the others. Just quieter. All her sleazy boss has to do is to dangle a non-existent promotion in front of her to make her scurry to his schemes. I wouldn't trust her going forward. Anyway, it's a rare person in the corporate world who would stand up for others. Many people in her shoes will do just what she did (look out for themselves first after making the right objection noises to satisfy their conscience that they did protest, but their objections were over-ridden).
I’m really enjoying this series. At first, I didn’t think I was going to like the fantasy aspect of it, but…
Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. One major problem with this drama is that we don't know who's who ( so it makes the conflict between CP and AK lose its impact). In other dramas they make the characters wear distinct clothing or have different hairstyles so we can tell at a glance who is what personality. Or they introduce some personality quirks that are unique to each personality. It's a big fail by the actor/production team for not giving each personality a way to distinguish themselves.
Thanks for highlighting the problem with the script. I felt that the writers wrote themselves into a corner with no good way of coming out of it. They should have treated modern day Tae ha and ancient Tae ha as the same person in different timelines, and had her remain with Joseon Tae ha as HEA.
Then show an epilogue of modern day Tae ha meeting and falling in love with a modern day version of her. That would have closed a lot of plot holes. There's a happy ending, but the viewer can't really root for them considering how the Joseon Tae ha suffered.
the credits show their moments after and even their second wedding, i believe the ending was real.
Yeah but wasn’t it weird that the scene for the second wedding only featured them and no one else? Do you think that you could keep her maid and his secretary away from her second wedding? That’s what convinced me that it’s all in his imagination. Even the presiding minister was absent, there was no one in the pews as well. How weird if it’s real, but quite fitting if it’s all in his head.
And the so-called ending credits showed scenes of both of them BEFORE she went back to Joseon and not AFTER she came back.
I noticed this! Sometimes they would wear the same clothes and sometimes they didn’t! When she goes back in…
The change in clothing, the lack of showing up in the pool, the stiff, reserved way she greeted him just proves to me that she didn’t really come back, but it’s all in his imagination. She died when the flowers disappeared. Else she would’ve shown up in the pool, hugged and kissed him.
Because if she didn’t, she would have ended up being his great , great grandmother and that would have been an incestuous relationship?
Reincarnation or not, Joseon ML is the forefather of modern day ML.
The plot hole is so huge. Don’t the events in the past affect the events of the future? If that’s the case then modern day ML should’ve never heard or known of Joseon FL since the timeline of events had changed. I wish the writer had made her fall in love marry and stay with Joseon ML. And created a similar looking modern day FL to wed the modern day ML. That ending would’ve been more realistic than this dreamlike ending where I’m not sure if it’s all in his head or if she really came back.
If only the ending was better, this would’ve been a timeless classic !
TBH I’m not sure if they really reunited in the end or if it’s all in his imagination because he missed her so much. The ending felt vague and dissatisfying. What an anticlimax!
The OST in this drama is godawful music. It’s literally being shoved in our faces. Background music is supposed to enhance, not distract from the drama.
I started this drama with low expectations despite I am huge fan of almost all the cast list. My reasons were…
You are right. They have chemistry, but not the romantic kind. I’m having trouble buying the romantic vibes they are trying to sell. HSH is great in action scenes, and even heartfelt scenes about missing her mom, but she isn’t selling the romance to save her soul and neither is Seo Jun. There’s a bit of potential there, though. So I’m waiting to see if it improves.
Yeah when I am watching it, I also felt the romance seems unnecessary because they tend to show so many things…
It really is unnecessary, plus it’s unbelievable from what the actors are portraying that they’ve fallen for each other that fast. I’m certainly not getting that vibe from Han So hee’s acting. It’s a hard sell.
TBH I am more invested in her sisters love stories and seeing her assistant's and ex's downfall than her and Yong-Pils…
@marishhii - I agree with you. I'm most invested in older sister's romance. I believe she fell for her husband who fell for her, but she was forced to leave , cause her husband is too stoopid and can't grow a spine to stand up to his domineering father/family. Can't wait for scenes where they get together, so I can see the dynamic between her and her ex- hubby.
I'm less invested in the younger sister's romance. The man at the beach looks way too young to be hooking up to a lady with a 9 year old child. I would've preferred someone older or more established to be her love interest but I'm open to seeing what the writers would make of it.
I'm least interested in Yong Pil's and Sam Dal's romance though it makes for hilarious viewing. Simply because I believe they still have strong feelings for each other (most obvious from his side) and they should have never broke up in the first place.
While they are at it, could they find a love interest for Boo Sang do? The sweetest second lead ever! Someone who will treat him well and is not just interested in his money? I half hoped he'd run into someone he's attracted to, on this trip to Seoul.
Here's me wishing that some of these plots will work out well and not infuriate me. Still happily watching though!
This is not a revenge drama. This is a healing drama. Everyone betrayed her. No one there for her when she needs…
I get your point, but I'm calling this BS and highly unrealistic. No one just walks away after years of reputation they spent giving their life blood and sweat for, is ruined by the lies of a subordinate. She should have done what everyone was counseling her to do, which is to sue her assistant for defamation.
Other resources available to her was to make it public that so called assistant slept with her boyfriend and stole her work. This is called 'standing up for yourself'. The fact that she had the opportunity to do so and just walked away crying is me calling it BS - this is not the way a hardened professional who has dedicated 18 years of their life, behaves.
Even if no one would believe her, she should still get her story out there to anyone who was willing to listen. I would even have blackmailed the so called reporter - that I would drop the charges against him - if he would carry my side of the story.
The fact that she just walked away while crying and bemoaning makes me lose respect for her as a human being. Stand up for yourself, girl! Otherwise, no one else would stand up for you. And this affects not only her life, but her sisters, and her family. She really shouldn't be selfish.
