Title Warm on a Cold Night Spoiler
After watching the preview of ep 16 where Su Jiu er was picking up some abilities, I strongly suspect that both she and her dad are from Qi origin. (She’s at least half Qi through her dad). And that since neither she nor her dad were in possession of their Qi vitalizing stones, her dad most likely weakened and died (cue in the black dots on his body) while she, never had a chance to stabilize her powers, which is why she was always sickly and cold. For some reason, ML had the power to stabilize her, albeit temporarily, and I’m guessing it’s because he’s from the Royal family so must possess higher powers than a regular Qi, or must be connected to her somehow. I’ll continue to watch to see if my theory pans out.

Yep! His awkwardness was so endearing!

The sisters love for each other is so heart warming! And filled with goodness. I didn’t expect to see such a close bond between the sisters regardless of what they had endured and it makes me so happy!

I think he’s lovely so far. I believe he genuinely loves his son.

What confused me about this speech was how come humans had access to knowledge about the Void Tyrants injury but…
Maybe it’s because she goes there a lot and mixes with the void folks as she was preparing to be their crown Princess? She’s a smart girl, and given how she was neglected and raised, it would make sense to prepare herself fully for her upcoming role. On the other hand the Immortals were complacent in their superiority, never bothered arming themselves with information about their opponents. In addition, Void people would most certainly guard against immortals getting any information from them or visiting their realm, as opposed to humans who are not seen as a threat as they have no magic power.

In many cases it is highly discouraged for a doctor to operate on their own family because they lose their objectivity. It’s bad writing that is bringing up this case. In some countries he would not be allowed to operate on his stepmom.

Now we know why the ml is the way he is, aloof and cold. That’s the result of a traumatic childhood, a loveless…
I actually agree with you. He really shouldn’t operate on his stepmom. I believe the FL is wrong in forcing him to do, especially after he explicitly explained that he cannot operate on her because his emotions are involved. I think FL is being a tad insensitive here.

I’m also enjoying the politics in the void, and very impressed that Qingkun has found her niche and proven to be intelligent and kind . I honestly think that the true villains of this drama are the dads. They are all horrible (with the exception of the Beast King). And I can’t tell you which one is worse, cause they are equally callous to their offspring in different ways. I personally dislike the human Emperor the most at this moment. Didn’t even bother feeding or educating his own daughter!

I know a lot more people are rooting for the second couple, but for me I’m continually pleased and surprised at how kind the ML is. And he retained that kindness even in different incarnations proving that his kindness is just part of who he is. I’m in love with the first couple and can’t help rooting for them to come out on top. ‘You can keep the bad, misunderstood boys (which has been done to death btw) but just give me a kind man who treats me well, and I’ll be all set’ lol. On another note, the actor that plays the Third Prince is such a handsome man. All the Void princes are really good looking. They did a good job casting.

Title The Journey of Chong Zi Spoiler
No, I don’t like her either. I love the first Chong Zi, but the second time around her character is too bland.
I don’t think she’s an improvement. Chongzi1 had suffered a lot, but she was unique, kind, relatable and charming, which explains why all the guys around her either liked her or ended up loving her. Chongzi2 hasn’t acted in any way to distinguish her personality from any normal ‘good girl’. She lacks character definition, and that is why I say she’s bland. It’s like the writers didn’t trouble to define her personality this time around.

This is straight up getting gothic up in here. Jeremy's YinFan has turned into the obsessive, romantic, gothic…
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Your analysis is spot on. Seems like he has succumbed to his heart demon. And the dance he used to teach Chong2 to control her weapon was sensual, almost sexual. You’d have a very hard time convincing me otherwise. There was none of the pseudo paternal interactions he had with Chong1.

Totally agree with you here, I was stunned when I heard the child's reply, he is too young to reason and rationalize...…
I agree with you. It’s a different story when the court’s mandate that the child live with his bio mom, and adoptive dad had to comply, or if the child was a teenager able to reason it out. But no six year old will ask to leave the only parent he has ever known for the unknown. Imho that part was badly scripted. And that kid is such an amazing actor.

Title Have a Crush on You Spoiler
I have a serious problem with how the show portrayed the adoptive father relationship. In real life what child would want to leave his primary care giver who he has a strong bond with to go to a stranger because she is his bio mother unless he was abused which is far from the case? I thought that bit was written quite badly and not realistic. The child’s conversation made it seem like he’d been coached. So I wanted to ask - is this a cultural thing, where a mother is revered even after abandoning her child? Or is it okay to abandon one’s child because there are limited welfare programs for poor people to take care of their kids? More than the somewhat toxic relationship between the leads, this one concerns me the most. And why is it okay to leave your child alone at home unsupervised by an adult and then go to work? I see this a lot in Cdramas. In the US this would be classified as child abandonment, and if caught, said parent could lose custody of their kid. Please feel free to chime in on this.

9 episodes in and I just can't watch any further. The ML is trash! Absolutely horrible! Their horrible toxic marriage…
Thank you so much for your analysis. He was never ready for a relationship so he should not have gotten married when he couldn’t even sustain a relationship since his work was all consuming. Did it never occur to viewers that the reason his ex broke up with him was because he treated her the same way as he treated the FL? At least she had the good sense not to marry him and even warned the FL who was too naive to listen. Never marry a man thinking you can change him or make him love you, foolhardy!
