I agree with you chingu. I am not optimistic. People think change will happen so easily. This singer sued for similar but got blacklisted: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ami_Suzuki#Studio_albums People point out how things have changed in many ways but I only see it as one step forward and 2 steps back. The agencies are in cahoots with each other in my opinion, it is ridiculous how such a successful singer did not get poached by another agency. The rich and powerful are usually gatekeepers that limit competition and protect their collective interests. Any good celebrity should be involved in a bidding war with multiple agencies. Given how young he joined as you pointed out, it seems more like a lifetime slave contract
I didn't know that case. This industry seems to follow the law of the jungle seriously.
More like all the agencies are in cahoots. They are gatekeepers that protect each other's backs. In a competitive environment, won't Lee Seungi be contacted and poached by another agency offering him better terms? I got the date wrong, it was not up to a decade just a few years of being blacklisted but given how little came of her career, you can't help but feel that she is still suffering repercussions for fighting for her rights:
It was nice to see a female love interest not get demonized for rejecting or being rejected by the protagonist. I also liked how it addressed free will... Given that standard dramas usually involve the female lead put in a relationship against her will and zero guilt from the male lead, this handled that well. Be it using money or a superpower forcing someone to love you is wrong.
It's a breezy watch and sweet. I only came across it because Choi Yuju who I liked for her role as Hanna in Be My Boyfriend
I recall a Japanese female singer who got blacklisted by the industry for 10 years for suing for something similar. She had to release all her music independently for a decade since no one touched her. I won't hold my breath and expect anything to change. EDIT: I got the date wrong, it was not up to a decade just a few years of being blacklisted but given how little came of her career, you can't help but feel that she is still suffering repercussions for fighting for her rights:
This talented, hardworking young man has endured years of mental abuse from the actions of the company he was…

Not a perfect drama but a good look at the arrogance and hypocrisy we all have but are usually unaware of. Male lead was trapped by his hubris and the female lead was a hypocrite The main leads became aware of theirs and grew. The best part of the drama. Anyone can live off pennies a month if you are a parasite living off your parents lol
Watching this and all I can is Hahahha. Sometimes, you just need to turn off your brain and enjoy the drama. It is entertainment not an academic paper that requires checking boxes or other requirements. I felt entertained and that is enough
most dramas have obnoxious ML but if Female gets such character she instantly gets most hate. Watching 1st episode…
Sorry but its a double standard. It is a breath of fresh air to see this type of female lead instead of the usual doormat.
You hate the character because it's not what you are used to. You need an open mind to enjoy new things. As already pointed out, the average male lead does worse and we do not get comments hating him. One drama even had a rapist as the second male lead and there was no complaint. I was shocked. Instead, the second female lead was getting attacked in the comment. Nothing can be worse than a rapist. It is pathetic. The drama in question is Tokyo Love Story 2020.
I dropped this drama because I wanted to watch a female lawyer and she wasn't one. It seems to be a scam in Korean drama. The Female lawyer always loses her law license by the end of episode 1 haha

Hong Kong cinema showed me that women could be action stars and save the day.
