Hasn't it been like 4 years? Think it's a done deal. I don't understand why they still try these in China. Is…
The companies who created them could license them to international companies. It is often complex but doable. But money is usually the biggest thing. Why sell it when you can wait for the winds to change (meaning laws/regulations could change). But also exploring that as an option could cost too much and/or company doesn't have time nor resources to deal with it. Ideally, it would be better for more collaborative projects with outside groups (look at the release of Meet You at the Blossom which is a Chinese BL filmed in Thailand using Chinese actors/crew/props/etc.....a collaboration between Thailand and Taiwan as a way to get a Chinese BL out there in the international sphere. I see this as a test case....so lets see how it goes and if more future collaborations will follow as a way to completely avoid China censorship. It still sucks for Chinese fans....unless they can get outside their countries' highly censored limited internet without getting in trouble.)
I am sick of all these Chinese series that will never air. What a waste. Tencent should just sell it to an outside China media source so they can air it. Jeebus.
Gong Jun/WKX's flirting was unprecedented. Is it possible he enchanted the censorship board so WoH got away with…
His flirting was also 'over-the-top' so it could have been taken more as humour not-to-be-taken-seriously. Like clearly, even Zishu's annoyance would have been acceptable to censors. There is a fine line between humor and truth ;D Like how they got away with hugging because the writers made them 'brothers' from the same sect (so it was seen as understandable). Just cleverness maybe.
Hi, It's my second time watching WOH and there is one thing I don't get. In ep 26 min 41:40 Lao Wen asks Ah Xu…
This is a great philosophical question! It would be great to know what you think of it thus far..... My two cents based on life interactions: Sometimes you have to let others work through their own issues....and let them come to you on their own.....even if you KNOW. A'Xu was being respectful because he and Kexing are 'on the same wavelength' (aka soulmate vibe). It is clear that Wen Kexing needed his own time to work through his own internal feelings; otherwise he would have been defensive or just LIED to redirect. A'Xu doesn't want that.....he'd rather WAIT for Kexing to feel comfortable/ready to just tell him himself. It is much more meaningful that way. And even after the Yi Baiye confrontation, when Kexing realized that A'Xu had KNOWN but didn't pressure him (and clearly didn't care about his past; he trusted him anyway).....you can tell it meant a lot to him to have that level of trust from A'Xu. A'Xu had no doubts and gave him his space which is what Kexing needed. Some people are like that. I think A'Xu is like that too, hense why he knew that it was better to just silently trust and allow Kexing to come to him on his own time/terms. Some personalities need that instead of words (words are wind; actions speak louder than words).
Really thought Zhang Zhe Han and Gong Jun both were awesome. But, seriously, Gong Jun made it hard to pay attention…
Because Youku is headquartered in China so they have to follow Chinese regulations. International sites don't have to follow those rules hense why his name is on Viki and Netflix.
Chinese entertainment industry is notorious for its cancel culture within China. It is insane....and sadly happens to many actors/directors/writers/etc.
Are you looking for a BL series similar to "The untamed" and that is UNCENSORED, then "Meet you at the Blossom"…
You should explain that it is uncensored because it was filmed OUTSIDE China and released outside China as a joint Thailand/Taiwan adventure using Chinese cast/staff/crew ;)
Qiestion for the people who work, have family, friends and social life. How can you make it to have a time for…
I also do what others have said: I watch an ep or 2 after work (I work 2nd shift so family is asleep when I get home)....or if too much other life stuff, I make an entire off day my power-watch-as-much-as-i-can day when family/friends are busy with other stuff (I make a ME day). But you are right: it sucks especially when eps end on cliffhangers. Longer series require patience and take longer to watch so i am so picky about what I start. But to me....this series was one of the best.....so worth the patience of savoring it over many weeks to watch it. It is really up to you and what makes you happy in life (and how much sleep you require to function).vNow you understand the love/hate we have for LONG Chinese dramas ;D
ghost king? u mean Wen Kexing? he didn't die in the drama u should watch the epilogue
So the 'extra' ep (ep 37) is up on Viki if you watch series there and also on international Youku youtube channel. China used to mandate sad or not-clear-open endings for LGBTQ+ content (now it is just all completely banned hense why you don't see them anymore). So the WOH team made the bonus ep and threw it up online for international community (since no censorship)....and we all know lots of clever people in China also know how VPNs work so could find it themselves also. The things people do to override censorship.
Ehhhh. I'll just say that there wasn't enough pay off to me as the viewer. There's no sense of accomplishment.…
I think that is the moral of the story regarding all the 'bunch of stupid old men with nothing but an unearned sense of entitlement'. You pretty much have it perfect. The book I feel made it much more clear since it was simplified. These two characters were trapped in that stupid world and wanted nothing more than to escape it to wander the world freely away from it all. The stupidity of all those egomaniacs is really the point: that it was pointless and meaningless. Don't live your life like that and don't be an prick to others like them. The tv series fleshed out more of the side characters story and tried to show more of the grey-zone areas of how good people can do bad and/or dumb things sometime unintentionally....how we stumble through life trying to do our best with what we are given.....how it really just causes unnecessary sorrow and pain when you try to mandate everyone live like you....cause who-the-eff-makes-you-better-than-everyone-else?!? (ahem.... authoritarian worlds full of egomaniacs who think they are better than everyone and think they should dictate how others should live their lives....when they are really as (or more) clueless than everyone else. It is worse when these egomaniacs think they are morally superior based on folklore/mythology/mad-up-stories......like why the red wedding happened......it is stupid and tragic and pointless and doesn't make the world a better place).
10/10one of the few kdrama without toxic hexagon, ML and SML becomes best friends to the point FL getting jealous.
Yeah.... the 'love triangle' tag seems so misleading here since it fell apart so quickly. It was WAY more Bromance than love triangle :D Seriously, enjoyed this very much!
Fun little series. It has its moments. Pacing felt a little weird in middle, like I felt like I missed an ep or something (when I clearly didn't). Actors were fun and cute. The other employees were interesting (not just boring extras tossed in). Typical BL with drama for drama's sake at times, but that goes with the territory :D At least there were no annoying love triangles!
